Story
Orphaned. Trained to fight. Raised to fear the power of Underhill. Secretly in love with a man who doesn’t want me. I’m still just Alli, a.k.a. the half-human orphan fae, but my life is looking up for the first time. It only took me my whole 24 years. But when Underhill - the ancestral home of the fae - shatters, making it impossible for any fae to enter, I’m the only one who knows who did it. A secret that will be the death of me if I do nothing.

old world, new adventure!
Reviewed: 10-31-21
Alli is training to reach the top of her class has someone only of partial fae lineage. it's been a tough 8 years, and just as she looks forward to being reintroduced into the normal world again, everything comes crumbling down and she may have unintentionally been the cause of it!
This is an enemies to lovers (sort of?). Story. I can't wait to know more about the ML's background (being vague so as not to ruin it.)
I think Elizabeth Evans as a narrator has a fairly even orator voice, however it does fall a bit flat at times and gets a bit droney, but I think that's just a personal reflection. Book 2 here we come!

In a family of healers who save, all I do is destroy. My enforced solitude is for my own safety as well as that of the world, or so my mother tells me. When the boy next door beckons, I can't help but sneak out to forge a friendship with him. Loneliness leads me to defy my family, but desperation prevails when I discover that the grounds of his private academy hold a secret that could help me learn why my ability is so disastrous...or push me to create a catastrophe that will bring about my family's deaths.

this one wasn't for me, but I think a lot of younger YA lovers who enjoy academy novels though would have fun with this box set.

A great ending to a great series!
Reviewed: 07-23-21
Wow was this an ever wild ride right up to the end. the third and final chronicle in the Everless series was jam packed with all sorts of delicious tensions, surprises, and that sweet, sweet vengeance for characters you've been itching to see taste their just desserts (well, literally for Ruby, I suppose lol). So many things happen to the main cast in book 3 There are some personalities that doe a 180 and you're left saying...wha?
Mac and Eclipse really take a back seat in book 3. In fact, Eclipsa seemed more aloof than ever before. Mac, meanwhile, is the same old Mac, but we can see her take a step back and focus on her goals and dreams while Summer is forced to deal with her issues head on.
Valerian goes through the ringer in this book. All sacrifice, that Fae. I missed his wit and sharp tongue, but I see why it was missing in this book. Luckily we have good ol' Asher to bring it.
I do think the ending was a bit lackluster with everything leading up to it
. I expected more from the darklings plot, but honestly, this ending wasn't bad either. it just wasn't how I expected the ending to go, given all the build up.
Fear not Grey fans, she ties up quite a few lose ends in her epilogue which lwwve you sated in terms of storyline wrap-ups, which I appreciate. I only wish there was more plot with the Darkling...er plot (trying to be vague to avoid spoilers) , but other than that, I was content with how the story ended.
as usual I love everything the narrator Vanessa Moyen doee. Her wonderful narration of this book only made the book 1000x more pleasurable than it already was!

a sweet, quick story

this retelling features Gretel as the main character. A quiet and academic mouse as opposed to her brother Hansel the life of the party. when a curse takes Hansel away, incredible must find her in a courage to take down that has been plaguing her kingdom. throw in a mysterious "guard" who has gretel's back, they take on a witch who dabbles in mind controlling suites.
it's a sweet (pun intended) quick retelling are you expecting to follow Hansel and Gretel really poor Gretel is the man in distress. as this is a novella the story moves quickly as does the romance which is expected. for what it was I enjoyed the book and it was a nice mindless read while doing tasks around the house. I definitely recommend it!
