This was a great book demonstrating how resilient kids can be after a tragedy when they are loved and nurtured through their trauma and grief.

Humor & Therapy
Revisado: 03-04-24
I was raised to suck it up and learn how to adapt and overcome life’s traumas and misfortunes so I never entertained the thought of seeking a therapist when my world began to fall to pieces and during 2020 the shelter in place order was a huge hit to my social skills and confidence since I am a single mother and at the time my boys were teenagers busy with their own social lives and interests. I have always been mostly an introvert, but after the shelter in place was lifted I still didn’t have a desire to go places and interact with my peers then fast forward a few years and my two oldest boys graduated, one flew the coop and joined the Air Force and his twin moved out and started working full time and empty nest hit hard, and I have a stressful career as a special education teacher with a caseload of students with mounds of paperwork that wasn’t realistic to keep up with, but was expected too, so I felt I was failing at life in all areas. After listening to this book though I find myself thinking seeking therapy isn’t something to fear and if I take the leap and schedule an appointment it could help me learn how to find my happy again and that there is still hope that I could find happiness and maybe not live the life I dreamed of as a child but yet the best version for the path life took me down. This was very uplifting and entertaining at the same time. I highly recommend this to anyone who is lost and living in a funk.

Historia
Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

Realistic Storyline Easy to Relate To
Revisado: 05-15-22
The narrator was pleasant to listen to and the storyline was realistic in a sense that every relationship has ups and downs and couples either have to work through the bumps or walk away and I like how this author always seems to choose resiliency in her books. I like how this book travels with the characters through the ups and downs, I easily transform myself into Gloria in the story.
