This was not only a great story, but the narration was good too. Loved hearing the different voices. This was another book I couldn’t wait to get back too. A lot of lost life lessons/advice included in the story, which was great.

This book is full of emotion right from the start. It was interesting to hear about orphans, and non-orphans being sold, especially knowing that it really did happen. There was no part of this book that was slow or boring, I couldn’t wait to hear more. Very enjoyable.

I usually only listen to audiobooks in the car, but kept listening as much as I could at home too because I couldn't wait to keep going. Delightful story and one I could actually see happening in real life.

This is an excellent book! I only listen on my commute twice a week and couldn't wait for the time to come again so I could hear more. Some parts (describing the massacre) were a little gruesome, but necessary. The reader used several voices and did a great job, kept it very interesting. It did get a little long at times, but overall I loved it.

I want to listen to this but it's too fast!
Reviewed: 08-26-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
The author talks way, way, way too fast. I tried adjusting the speed but then it echoes.
What could Florence Scovel Shinn have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?
I couldn't get past the first 10 minutes.
Would you be willing to try another one of Dixie Glassman’s performances?
NO!
Any additional comments?
I really wanted to hear this book, guess I'll have to buy it and read instead (which is fine).
