Story
A catastrophic pandemic ravages the globe, reducing the human population to extinction levels and cleansing the world of mediocrity. A doomsday prepper, a molecular geneticist, a journal-keeping loner, and a martial arts-trained nerd survive the disease that annihilated almost everyone else on the planet. Despite the miles between Kansas and California, Texas and Arizona, the four share a connection. They realize that not dying was the easy part. Now a year later, they navigate a bleak world...one without technology, without modern medicine, and without law and order.

Worth the credit - not a classic though

I enjoy end of the world, apocalyptic books and summer really good. Summer really bad this one is good but not great. At the very end, I decided I will not get any more books as it starts to take a turn for the supernatural. I prefer books to stay in reality. But if you have a credit and you have a long trip, this is worth listening to. I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it but if you have it, it's worth the time. The reading performance could have been much better.

Christians who Murder without cause
Reviewed: 09-14-22
I was interested in the Christian / Conservative approach until this over zealous group of characters MURDERED unarmed US Mikitary members (likely Christians themselves) WITHOUT MERCY. They had a quote to attack the other side that applies to them “If you can get them to believe absurdities, it is amazing the atrocities they will be willing to make.” HORRIBLESelf-Righteous MURDERERS are the “Christian” heroes of this book

ENDING DISCLOSED. I accidentally purchased this when searching for new release post apocalypse books. This was written in 1957 ish. I enjoyed it and realize the may be a more realistic end of days - we all die slowly of radiation poisoning in the boring normal routine of life. I don’t recommend unless you are a history person but did enjoy. Little to No action in the book takes place. Long discussions on gardening and farming though - even though all will die before the plants grow in - that was the point

A REALISTIC look at an EMP blast

I have been looking for a realistic post-apocalyptic book and found this one to be one of the most realistic ones I’ve read. It still has all the great excitement and adventure as others but this one seems more realistic I recommend it.

I enjoyed the story, it was “good” but not great given all the other choices. The first third of the book seems like the author was paid for number of words. As an example, the two main characters are at the zoo and go to the map. There is a family of three and we are told in deep detail what each is wearing, how old they are, color and type of stroller, color and type of blanket, and exploration of their relationship and on and on and on. So many details that go on and on and on…, that do not build the story or briefly paint a pictures of the location BUT the location isn’t important and time spent at location is minimal.

I enjoyed the first two books a lot and gladly gave them 5 stars each. This book felt forced, was boring in places and too black and white. All Feds Bad, All Army Good. Save your time and let the first two books be your memories of this series. I won’t get the next and wished I had not got this one.
