Story
Former US Marine Jess Winslow reenters civilian life a new widow, with little more to her name than a falling-down house, a medical discharge for PTSD, and a loyal dog named Lucy. The only thing she actually cares about is that dog, a pit bull mix who helps her cope with the devastating memories of her time in Afghanistan. After 15 years - nearly half his life - in state prison, Mason Burke owns one set of clothes, a wallet, and a photo of Lucy, the service dog he trained while behind bars. Seeking a fresh start, he sets out for Deception Cove, Washington, where the dog now lives.

Laukkanen crushes it again. Deception Cove isn’t my favorite book by this author but only because some of his other books are so tremendously good. This one is top tier as well and a great read / listen. I can’t recommend it enough. Grab any of his books and dive in and you’ll find yourself quickly wanting to read them all. Enjoy!

Vinnie does a great job telling an interesting story while working in some truths about health and fitness that are too often overlooked by normal health "experts" and nutritionists.

Story
When you've got nothing left, you've got nothing left to lose. Cass County, Minnesota: A sheriff's deputy steps out of a diner on a rainy summer evening, and a few minutes later, he's lying dead in the mud. When BCA agent Kirk Stevens arrives on the scene, he discovers local authorities have taken into custody a single suspect: a hysterical young woman found sitting by the body, holding the deputy's own gun. She has no ID, speaks no English. A mystery woman.

Excellent! Owen Continues to Impress

After reading Laukkanen's first 3 books I decided to try this one as an audio book. The story was riveting and I couldn't wait to get back in the car to listen more. The narrator did a good job with accents and differentiating character voices to make it easy to follow the story, even at 1.5x speed.
Mostly though, Owen is proving that he is a young writer that is one of the absolute best out there and deserves to be among the best sellers and most talked about fiction writers.
Start with the first book in the series, because once you read one you will end up reading them all. Might as well do it in order.

This book is something that needs to be contemplated by everyone and the concepts should have a place in our society for the betterment of the nation as a whole. That we have been mislead and fed disinformation for decades is disheartening but continuing to go down the wrong path because the government and other authority figures can't admit they were wrong is no solution.
With scientific processes testing and refining the broad concepts in this book we could quickly find optimal dietary standards to improve the health, longevity and quality of life of almost everyone.
