Love Torch and Quill
Reviewed: 04-13-24
This book covers the tournament arc, good pace and sets things up nicely for the next book. The Torch and Quill personas are fantastic. I had alot of fun listening to his quips.

Story
Devilishly clever, Next blends fact and fiction into a breathless tale of a new world where nothing is what it seems, and a set of new possibilities can open at every turn. Next challenges our sense of reality and notions of morality. Balancing the comic and bizarre with the genuinely frightening and disturbing, Next shatters our assumptions and reveals shocking new choices where we least expect.

lost his touch

This was the last book I had left to finish reading all of Crichton's work and probably my least favorite. The story was long and strung out, I didn't feel it was as well put together as some of his other work.

Story
Once again Michael Crichton gives us his trademark combination of page-turning suspense, cutting-edge technology, and extraordinary research. State of Fear is a superb blend of edge-of-your-seat suspense and thought provoking commentary on how information is manipulated in the modern world.

Some people may be put off this book because it doesn't align with their environmental beliefs but the story is quite interesting and fun. probably the best Crichton book in my opinion.

Story
In the Nevada desert, an experiment has gone horribly wrong. A cloud of nanoparticles (micro-robots) has escaped from the laboratory. This cloud is self-sustaining and self-reproducing. It is intelligent and learns from experience. For all practical purposes, it is alive. It has been programmed as a predator. It is evolving swiftly, becoming more deadly with each passing hour. Every attempt to destroy it has failed. And we are the prey.

Not as good as the other Lange novels.
Reviewed: 11-25-16
Not as good as the other Lange novels. I would choose one of the others over this book, probably the least complete story of the Lange series.
