This comedy is not for me.

I listened to this more as a comedy than any other type of book. I don't really enjoy comedies that call all of the people of middle America ignorant rude hicks. If you like that kind of humor than this is perfect for you. Also, I can see some as saying that all American food is bland, but someone from the UK? Our food is bland compared to yours? Maybe that is true and or funny. What do I know?

Never Laughed So Much.

I have never laughed so much, or out loud so much. An example: "How's life treating you?" Hank - "Like I slept with his wife and gave her herpes." That is a terrible line, I know. Tasteless, gross, socially unacceptable. But, even days later, I still smile and almost laugh out loud. I loved book 1, I enjoyed book 2, but this was the funniest, stupidest best book I have listened to (maybe) in my life.

Great Job on a Classic Story

What did you love best about The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress?

I will never make it to the moon, except through this type of novel. Heinlein does a great job on speculating what it would be like to live in the moon. His way of using humor and fact make this an easy read. But what I like most about this novel is Heinlein's ability to see the assumptions we make (that most don't even see as assumptions) and set them aside. Humor makes it an easy to consider new political views.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The narrator Manny, such an un-assuming hero. But don't forget M. Holmes. Holmes will play an integral part in several other novels, not the least of which is "The Number of the Beast."

What about Lloyd James’s performance did you like?

Lloyd James brings the characters to life. I think he does them justice, and will look for other books read by him.

Andrews did a wonderful job capturing the spirit and character of the members of this story. Well Done!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would not be able to finish this in one sitting, but I did steal time to read, and looked forward to times when I could read Steelheart

Any additional comments?

Filled with action, surprises, and metaphors. This was a pleasure to read, and the tension only increased as the end neared. I plan to re-read it, and share it with my children and grandchildren.
