Historia
Caitlyn Sullivan had come from a long line of Hollywood royalty, stretching back to her Irish immigrant great-grandfather. At nine, she was already a star - yet still an innocent child who loved to play hide-and-seek with her cousins at the family home in Big Sur. It was during one of those games that she disappeared. Some may have considered her a pampered princess, but Cate was in fact a smart, scrappy fighter, and she managed to escape her abductors. Callan Cooper was shocked to find the bloodied, exhausted girl huddled in his house.

Intriguing
Revisado: 02-08-19
This is a fiction book based on the life of Martha Jefferson. It is probably as close to the truth as her biography The family secrets true or not are shared in the book. Slavery was a part of life at that time and we feel the internal struggle of a family with the burden of ownership

Historia
In 1915, Sherlock Holmes is retired and quietly engaged in the study of honeybees in Sussex when a young woman literally stumbles onto him on the Sussex Downs. Fifteen years old, gawky, egotistical, and recently orphaned, the young Mary Russell displays an intellect to impress even Sherlock Holmes. Under his reluctant tutelage, this very modern, twentieth-century woman proves a deft protégée and a fitting partner for the Victorian detective.

5 star all the way
Revisado: 08-18-17
Where does The Beekeeper's Apprentice, or On the Segregation of the Queen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
I have not been so hooked from beginning to end of a book since the last Harry Potter book came out. I love the original Sherlock Holmes but could stop after one adventure. No I stayed up all night listening to this book. Fell asleep listening, blessed my self for my habit of bookmarking at end of each chapter finished. Next morning backed up to my last book mark and finished. That was Monday. Thursday night I have almost finished second time through hearing things I missed first time through and will probably start third time through if I can talk myself into waiting a month for my next credit subscription to get next book in series. This could be a budget buster for me.

Historia
Wedding photographer Mackensie "Mac" Elliot is most at home behind the camera, but her focus is shattered moments before an important wedding rehearsal when she bumps into the bride-to-be's brother...an encounter that has them both seeing stars. A stable, safe English teacher, Carter Maguire is definitely not Mac's type. But a casual fling might be just what she needs to take her mind off bridezillas. Of course, casual flings can turn into something more when you least expect it.

Shay Remby arrives in Hollywood with $58 and a handmade knife, searching for her brother, Odin. Odin’s a brilliant hacker but a bit of a loose cannon. He and a group of radical animal-rights activists hit a Singular Corp. research lab in Eugene, Oregon. The raid was a disaster, but Odin escaped with a set of highly encrypted flash drives and a post-surgical dog. When Shay gets a frantic 3 a.m. phone call from Odin - talking about evidence of unspeakable experiments, and a ruthless corporation, and how he must hide - she’s concerned.

Love the 2nd book
Revisado: 08-26-15
Would you consider the audio edition of Uncaged to be better than the print version?
I can feel Sandford in the flow of the book but the narrative is his wife. I do hate that the book builds to a pitch then ends till the next book. I am enjoying them as a writing team and hope they do many more books. And I don't know how many books there will be.

Historia
When novelist Owen Quine goes missing, his wife calls in private detective Cormoran Strike. At first, Mrs. Quine just thinks her husband has gone off by himself for a few days - as he has done before - and she wants Strike to find him and bring him home. But as Strike investigates, he discovers that Quine's disappearance is no coincidence. The novelist has just completed a manuscript featuring poisonous pen-portraits of almost everyone he knows. If the novel were published, it would ruin lives - meaning that almost everyone in his life would have motives to silence him.

all ready looking for next book
Revisado: 07-13-14
If you could sum up The Silkworm in three words, what would they be?
Gripping. Detailed. Unexpected.
What other book might you compare The Silkworm to and why?
Agatha Christie. Sherlock Holmes. But their are more details that you miss the first time and require a second listen.
What does Robert Glenister bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The British accent adds to the experience.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes I wanted to listen to this in one setting but it is also book I want to listen to again already and just finished last night.

Boom! One minute it was Ike and the man in the grey flannel suit, and the next minute it was time to "turn on, tune in, drop out". While Americans were walking on the moon, Americans were dying in Vietnam. Nothing was beyond question, and there were far fewer answers than before.

all time favorite
Revisado: 12-08-10
This is my favorite book of all time. Only partialy because I am a boomer but because it explained to my the why of so many things from my childhood. News that I was to young to understand when it happend and was to new for history books. I grew up with Brokaw on the news and have always found his voice comforthing. Listening to him read the book was listening to him tell a story. It does not have the feel of being read to. There needs to be more books like this out there. Telling us the whys and how items became history
