Sins of the Daughter is an action-packed book. One of the best things that I liked about the story is that it continued the saga of a forbidden love affair. Another best thing is that this sequel is just as exciting and gripping as Book 1.
A great story, perfectly paired with amazing narration, equals a highly recommended book.

Story
Tom Kendall, a down-to-earth private detective, is asked to investigate the death of a young newspaper reporter. The evidence shows quite clearly that it was an accident: a simple, dreadful accident. That is the finding of the coroner and the local police. Furthermore, there were two witnesses. They saw the whole thing. But was it an accident, or was it something more sinister? Against a backdrop of a viral epidemic slowly spreading from Central America, a simple case soon places Kendall up against one of the largest drug companies in the country.

John Holt is a great author and he's got amazing talent for creating twists and turns that would really surprise his readers/listeners. The narration was good and I did not get bored for a second, despite the long listen - 13+ hours!

I am a Sherlock Holmes fan and I am happy to say that I really liked this book. I wish I can listen to the first 7 books though as this is the first of the series that I listened to.
Anyway, the characters were effectively brought to life by the narration. The story flowed so well and I was not bored for a moment. It was a truly entertaining story and I did not mind the 11+ hours of listening!

I like this book because the story flowed so nicely with the characters coming to life through the amazing narration.
High school life is no easy life. We have all been through that and thanks to Kristie Haigwood, I was able to look back, reflect and smile at the teenager that I was. I am definitely looking forward to book 2.

A love story set in the wild west, so naturally, it came with action, suspense and drama. Wyatt's Bounty was a truly enjoyable listen and Dawson McBride's narration was simply exceptional - I could listen to hik day and night and I would still want more!
As a sequel to Kim Turner's Sawyer's Rose, Wyatt's Bounty was not a disappointment to me! Highly recommended.

Drama-Filled Fairytale

I loved the book for the simple reason that it tells an old-fashioned fairytale, and I love fairytales. What's very endearing about this book is that it also tells the stories of three people who had to suffer for the bad things that they did not do, and all three were able to triumph eventually.
It's refreshing to listen to a book with both story and narration that complement each other perfectly. I highly recommend The Foundling Lady for those who love regency romances.

This book provies an exciting continuation for the Devil Duke. Book 2 tells of the story of the jilted Abigail Sutton as she tried to find her own destiny. The scenes were really hot and it was written to perfectly fit the personalities of the main characters. If you have listened to the first book and have learned to hate the Baronnes, you will see how she changed - for the better - in this book. I like the narration as it pulled right into the story from the start.

Story
As if he doesn't have enough to handle between running outlaws out of Cheyenne, keeping his brothers out of trouble, and avenging his father's death, Sheriff Sawyer McCade's meddling mother just dumped a mysterious mail-order bride on his doorstep. One woman can be more trouble than a band of renegades, and while this one has him all stirred up, he'd rather get to the bottom of the story she isn't telling. Rose Parker had it all - until a web of danger and deceit sends her running to Cheyenne posing as a mail-order bride. Escaping the evils of New York seems sensible until she meets the unsuspecting sheriff who didn't ask for her, has no intention of marrying her, and won't rest until he uncovers her secret and sends her back home.

There is always something romantic and exciting about Western-themed books, and Sawyer's Rose definitely provided those two elements - and more! Kim Turner's words made me want to listen on and on. I like that the story is also full of drama, family struggle, intrigue, and of course, murder and mystery.
The cowboy accent was perfect! Dawson McBride's performance added more spice into the story.
As a first book of a series, I'd say this is a spectacular debut. I am definitely looking forward to the next book.

This is the first Frank Lucianus book I listened to. As a mafia story, it intrigued and excited me. The addition of the love story between two people from two warring families reminded me of Romeo and Juliet - so classic and timeless, and still so very effective in capturing interest.
It took me a while to get used to the narration. The Italian accent was very heavy, and to be fair, I was warned about that before I started listening. Anyway, once I got used to the narration, I really enjoyed the book.
I recommend this book for those who find underground, organized crime stories fascinating - it certainly has all the expected elements and more! Yes, the twists and turns will surely surprise you.
