Interesting Take on Haunted House
Reviewed: 05-22-23
I really enjoyed this podcast. While not necessarily fear-inducing, it was pretty neat. Give it a chance.

Story
Meet the members of the Equinox Society: Claire, a caustic but compassionate demonologist; Amanda, a witch who wants to help; William, an occultist living in a haunted brownstone; and other ordinary people who share a fascination with the bizarre and otherworldly. Their reports explore private fears and personal demons, offering glimpses of the nightscape all of us inhabit. A troubled vampire who stalks an abandoned shopping mall. A dead teen who emails from the past. An arsonist who starts real fires with her dreams.

Interesting enough without being too serious

I enjoyed it the same way I enjoy Tales from the Gas Station. Gave me something to listen to while I work and doesn’t take itself too seriously

Nothing great, but alright I guess

I love horror, and I read a lot of it. This was a very average demonic possession story with all of the cliches.
Meh at best.

Story
The year is 1348. Thomas, a disgraced knight, has found a young girl alone in a dead Norman village. An orphan of the Black Death, and an almost unnerving picture of innocence, she tells Thomas that plague is only part of a larger cataclysm - that the fallen angels under Lucifer are rising in a second war on heaven, and that the world of men has fallen behind the lines of conflict. Is it delirium or is it faith? She believes she has seen the angels of God. She believes the righteous dead speak to her in dreams. And now she has convinced the faithless Thomas to shepherd her across a depraved landscape to Avignon.

I didn’t think I would like this book as much as I did

I’m not a crier, but the last half hour made me tear up. I’d recommend to anyone, not just history fiction or horror fans.
