Humanity has colonized the solar system - Mars, the Moon, the Asteroid Belt and beyond - but the stars are still out of our reach. A thrilling space thriller. I love when the technology and politics in these stories are done in a way that feel practical. A beautiful start to the series.

Story
In The Land: Predators, the Mist Village has harnessed its power. With core buildings, professional fighters, and now their own dungeon, the settlement is primed to grow into a kingdom of true power and magic. The path to power has not been without risk, however. The MistVillage has been noticed. Evil nobles from the Kingdom of Law, bloodthirsty goblins from the Serrated Mountains, an undead lord with a penchant for human sacrifice, and fanatical kobolds from the Depths all plot the village's destruction.

Leveling up his writing skills
Reviewed: 08-15-18
Aleron hits his literary stride with Predators. He takes his time delving into character background and makes you feel something deeper for the people of the mist village. The dungeon expansion alone is a favorite I could read about all on it's own. Nick Podehl is the master of audiobooks! His mastery of all voices in The Land make this lengthy book 7 the most enjoyable so far. With the world building accomplished in Predators I expect even bigger events to unfold in book 8.

Gnomes Rule

Another beautifully told story of adventure and leveling up in the land. My only issues were that some of the prompts and level building can seem tedious. There were a couple of lengthy in depth descriptions that I zoned out during. Overall the level of complexity that Aleron is constructing with each story is phenomenal.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Starts off slow but once it gets going...

Loved it! The beginning was a bit slow but 3 hrs in the story starts to unfold giving one of the best looks at a young wizard growing. No Harry Potter luck but instead a more emotional look at what a young boy who is self aware goes through.

Story
Zack Lightman has never much cared for reality. He vastly prefers the countless science-fiction movies, books, and videogames he's spent his life consuming. And too often, he catches himself wishing that some fantastic, impossible, world-altering event could arrive to whisk him off on a grand spacefaring adventure.
