Story
Ten women, each one between a rock that might be her tombstone and a hard place that it may take a gun to blast her way out of. Author Thad Brown's collection of hard bitten, bullet paced fiction centered on women embroiled in violence and danger takes pulp to a whole new level. Being a woman often means fighting against all odds. And the women in Brown's tales are charter members of The Smoking Gun Sisterhood.

Strong Women!

I enjoyed this compendium of stories. Each one was intriguing , well-developed and ended with some moral structure that justified the way the tales were told. It was difficult to predict the outcome early in each story, so I was always trying to guess, but rarely was I correct as to how it would end.
The narration was excellent and each character's qualities came through the reader effortlessly. It was as if I, the listener, was put on Autopilot and the stories just opened up before me. We'll done Miss Gray.

A Carefully Written and Narrated Action Story.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this mystery. There were enough twists and turns to challenge my reasoning ability with the perpetrator not surfacing until nearly the end. Even then there was a lot of action that required the listener's attention . You couldn't revisit all the clues in your head while Casey was trying to dispatch Romeo. It held my attention right to the end. The narration was excellent and I became comfortable with each character's voice identity. Effie, Becca, Casey and Falcon with remain with me for a long time.

The reader, Aisling Gray, made me feel like she was sitting across from me telling her very credible story. There was no confusion of characters as she narrated. The story line put the listener right at the scene , almost as an observer. I enjoyed this book.
