Story
For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand.

I love the way that the love of nature is woven through the story. A beautifully written book and well read by the narrator.

I read this about 15 years ago and even though it's like 1000 pages long I couldn't put it down. Michener develops characters so completely you can't help but get sucked in to find out what happens to them. This audiobook is a really good narration of the book and really brings it to life. 5 stars.

A young pretender raises an army to take the throne. Learning of his father’s death, the adolescent, dashing and charismatic and descended from the old kings of the North, vows to avenge him. He is supported in this war by his mother, who has spirited away her two younger sons to safety. Against them is the queen, passionate, proud, and strong-willed and with more of the masculine virtues of the time than most men. This book is pretty awesome how it ties almost all the GoT stories with real history. Live dragons excepted of course. Narrator is very good too. I will listen to it again, as there is a lot going on and no way will I remember it all.

This is an account of the journalist
Reviewed: 10-28-22
This is too much oriented towards the author's experience as a journalist on the case, rather than an organized presentation of the story. It jumps all over the place.
