Story
The definitive book on QAnon from the reporter knows them best; Will Sommer explains what it is, how it has gained a mainstream following among Republican lawmakers and ordinary citizens, the threat it poses to democracy, and how we can reach those who have embraced the conspiracy and are disseminating its lies.

Story
Was Hitler an atheist? The answer is sometimes ambiguous. Some political pundits claim Hitler was an atheist, and others claim he was Christian. In the turbulent years of Nazi Germany, Adolf Hitler cynically used both the Protestant and Catholic churches to strengthen his grip on power.

Story
The figure of Dietrich Bonhoeffer (1906-1945) has become a clay puppet in modern American politics. Secular, radical, liberal, and evangelical interpreters variously shape and mold the martyr’s legacy to suit their own pet agendas. Stephen Haynes offers an incisive and clarifying perspective. A recognized Bonhoeffer expert, Haynes examines “populist” readings of Bonhoeffer, including the acclaimed biography by Eric Metaxas, Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy.

Great analysis of how pseudo-historians bastardized Bonhoeffer’s legacy
Reviewed: 09-20-24
Author did not shy away from difficult topics. The comparison between evangelicals and Bonhoeffer is painful. The materials to debunk it are sparse. Glad this is out there.

Story
Its messaging can seem cryptic, even nonsensical, yet for tens of thousands of people, it explains everything: What is QAnon, where did it come from, and is the Capitol insurgency a sign of where it’s going next? Mike Rothschild, a journalist specializing in conspiracy theories, has been collecting their stories for years, and through interviews with QAnon converts, apostates, and victims, as well as psychologists, sociologists, and academics, he is uniquely equipped to explain the movement and its followers.

Absolutely loved this book. I also appreciate that he provided resources to further reading. Additionally, I like the approach he takes regarding mocking/attacking people with bad ideas: you’ll never help them escape if they feel attacked.

It’s very amoral and nihilistic. I found other books more helpful. But for this price, and for this length, it’ll do what you’re looking for

Touching and riveting

I finished this story over two days. I had to force myself to pause for sleep at 3am but it was very difficult. I loved this story and this narrator. His voices for characters would sometimes slip during dialogue but the emotion in his voice more than made up for that in my mind.
The romance was sweet and at times heartbreaking. I found myself laughing out loud and crying at various parts of the story. Constantly shifting perspectives gave me insight into each person’s mind that had me dying to tell the other characters what I knew.
The one criticism I would make is of the sex scenes. Some were very good but one in particular described the lead woman as tasting like peaches. Women do not taste like peaches. If you find a woman who does then get her to a doctor immediately. That took me right out of the story and had me laughing. So if you are a person who hates that kind of thing as well then be prepared.
I would absolutely recommend this book to all lovers of romance and supernatural tales.

I could really feel the stakes in this story. I haven’t read a faerie book in a long time and this reignited my love for the theme. I’m left dying for more of this world and feeling hopeful for the main character. The emotion in the narrator’s voice definitely helped the story come alive. I would absolutely recommend this book.
