An enjoyable book. Well- written throughout. Each character’s story drew me in. Highly recommended. Content warning: sexual content.

As much as I enjoyed meeting Alex and his adventure in deciphering a new land, new powers, and new companions, the author’s use of an overpowered and barely challenged hero and the sexism in the treatment of women made the second book too much to bear.

Too biased to be taken seriously. The author’s points could be true, but there is too much bias toward love of the video games. It would be refreshing to see someone else propose a better analysis of violence connected to video games.

Character voicing and story can be engaging at times, particularly in fight scenes. Otherwise simplistic and 2-dimensional at best.

Our children (ages 7 and 9) have listened to the entire Henry Huggins collection two years in a row and they have loved it from start to finish both times. Cleary's stories are full of real-life adventure. Characters face the problems of growing up and gaining independence. They make decisions and love with them. They deal with grown ups. They work toward goals. They put up with each other and find ways to get along. These stories are beautiful and they encourage out kids to have a positive attitude.
