Long drawn out battle with little to no story.

Feltlike a poorly written DBZ battle scene with unimaginative and convoluted twists. Through most of the book I was waiting for something interesting to happen other than a never ending battle.

One of the worst in the series.

Filler and fluff, feels like a prequel that just drags interspersed with seemingly random and short action scenes.

Story
Mage Errant: Publisher's Pack contains books one and two of the Mage Errant series: Into the Labyrinth and Jewel of the Endless Erg. Hugh of Emblin is, so far as he's concerned, the worst student that the Academy at Skyhold has ever seen. He can barely cast any spells at all, and those he does cast tend to fail explosively.

LGBT Harry Potter
Reviewed: 05-10-23
The main character is an awkward autistic male with more competent friends. Incompetent adults somehow get saved by miracle children. All the leaders are female or LGBT. It has some pretty cringe humor and on the nose jokes. If you want an anti-straight male fantasy, this book is great. If you aren't interested in drowning in new-age propaganda, it's probably best to move on.

Filler story, not great.

Struggled to keep paying attention through predictable characters and mediocre plot. Adds a bit of world building to Spellmonger but wasn't really worth it.

Story
Stretched to his limit, Tamas is relying heavily on his few remaining powder mages, including the embittered Taniel, a brilliant marksman who also happens to be his estranged son, and Adamat, a retired police inspector whose loyalty is being tested by blackmail. But when gods are involved....Now, as attacks batter them from within and without, the credulous are whispering about omens of death and destruction. Just old peasant legends about the gods waking to walk the earth. No modern educated man believes that sort of thing. But they should....

I'm not a fan of the powder mage concept. Good writer, poor concept. Almost like a coke head trying to come up with a new kind of mage.
