Good story balance for Aubrey fans
Reviewed: 11-19-24
This is a story that balances Jack Aubrey’s personal life woes with the excitement of his campaigns. In this case he is a commodore of a small squadron in the Indian Ocean. He commands one action but then the story moves to a different action that he’s not involved in. It’s a significant piece of the book, so though a good action description I missed Jack in that piece

Story
The All-Pro is the third book in the Galactic Football League series, following on The Rookie and The Starter. Seven centuries into the future, aliens and humans compete for the greatest prize in the universe: the Galaxy Bowl trophy. Quarterback Quentin Barnes enters his third season at the helm of the Ionath Krakens. He's reshaped the team in his image, and the time for excuses is over; it's win or be replaced.

Barns arrogance a bit much
Reviewed: 12-13-23
Liked the overall story change in direction but Barn’s arrogance gets a bit annoying as a repetitive mantra. In the past his obtuseness doesn’t take so long to clear and it bogs down the story
As always, the narration is great
