Story
In the Spring of 1974, 2nd Lt. Hiroo Onoda of the Japanese army made world headlines when he emerged from the Philippine jungle after a thirty-year ordeal. Hunted in turn by American troops, the Philippine army and police, hostile islanders, and eventually successive Japanese search parties, Onoda had skillfully outmaneuvered all his pursuers, convinced that World War II was still being fought and waiting for the day when his fellow soldiers would return victorious.

Total selflessness
Reviewed: 08-12-18
Very touching story of a man who have one thing that governed all his actions, duty comes first and self comes last, no value for him self or his life when he have a duty to fulfill.
Very inspiring, sometimes even sad, and sometimes you feel its too much, but this is what happened and he has his reasons for making his decisions

To the point

Simple and to the point facts about IF, with scientific backup, the author doesn't talk much about what we can have while fasting, like in the book "complete guide of fasting" he mentions that water, coffee, tea, bone broth are fine and wont effect your fasting

There are tales of Middle-earth from times long before The Lord of the Rings. The story told in this book is set in the great country that lay beyond the Grey Havens in the West: lands where Treebeard once walked, but which were drowned in the great cataclysm that ended the First Age of the World.

Gets better after chapter 4
Reviewed: 02-07-10
am not done with the book yet, but it gets better after chapter 4, the first 3 chapters are a bit boring, and it takes time to get used to the narrator.
Lots of wired words and namings, which makes it difficult to memories and stay connected to the story.
a bit difficult to imagine the scenes.
but over all i find it a nice book and a good experience.

Welcome to the world of Selflessness
Reviewed: 01-14-10
since young most of what we hear from the west is how to be rich, famous and powerful, and fulfil all your desires. but with these spiritual stories, you focus on others and their needs more than your self, selflessness is what really matters and gives meaning to life.
I loved the book and most of its stories,
Stories are best told by Elders, and the narrator who is the author himself, is very calm and slow, which gives the great feeling of hearing the story from the elders,
I feel like a baby listening to his grand parent telling the story, and makes me fly far away with my imagination.
Great work of Joseph Marshall
