Story
Editors Randy Chandler and Cheryl Mullenax put the call out to horror writers and editors of extreme stories, the hardcore stuff that breaks boundaries and trashes taboos, the transgressive tales you can't "unread" (as Chuck Palahniuk says). Some of the stories you'll find here are loaded with very graphic descriptions of violence, sex, and depravities, while others may contain only one shocking moment of brutality. In others, the hardcore aspect may be less graphic and subtler than you might expect.

With many collections of stories, you will find stories you like and stories you don't. I did enjoy a couple of the tales enough to say this merits a listen; but I would not call all of these tales "horror". One in particular boiled down to a fetish driven fantasy that I felt does not qualify as horror. I feel the price is fair for the tales I enjoyed and regard the stories that didn't shine as extras.

Story
Clark Kent has always been faster, stronger - better - than everyone around him. But he wasn't raised to show off, and drawing attention to himself could be dangerous. Lately it's difficult to hold back and keep his heroics in the shadows. When Clark follows the sound of a girl crying, he comes across Gloria Alvarez and discovers a dark secret lurking in Smallville. Turns out, Clark's not the only one hiding something. Teaming up with his best friend, Lana Lang, he throws himself into the pursuit of the truth. What evil lies below the surface of his small town?

Wonderful Superman story

Superman at his best. The greatest Superman stories are never about who he can beat up, but about who he can help. He was always intended as a symbol of hope, the best that a human upbringing has to offer. The issues tackled in this story are the perfect way to showcase just that.
