This was the first time for the audio book . It was a much dreamer thing to listen to than read on the page.
I don't re-read books very often, so the fact that this one gets my attention again speaks volumes.
I have recommend it so many times. Funny how many get caught up in is it fiction, No my fellows it's not fiction.
Read it as truth and then live your life in accordance with this knowledge. You have been blessed by being exposed to a new point of view.

An adorable story full of very brilliant British humor! A plucky games programmer rushes off to help her eccentric Aunt get a needed rating on her Victorian B&B, never mind she lacks the skill set to cook or renovate, as the staff has taken a holiday.

Story
Hal Beekman is exhausted. With all of his energy devoted to his real estate developments, he doesn’t have the bandwidth to figure out why his wife is sad. As for Stacey Beekman, a transplanted Midwesterner with divorce-whisperer friends, the only solution for a husband who doesn’t desire her is to find a second husband who does. But with Stacey left alone in a new house to parent her tech-addicted children and Hank isolated in a Greenwich McMansion that neither of them ever loved, COVID-19 has surprises in store for the Beekmans.

Story
In a sprawling mansion filled with peculiar treasures, January Scaller is a curiosity herself. As the ward of the wealthy Mr. Locke, she feels little different from the artifacts that decorate the halls: carefully maintained, largely ignored, and utterly out of place. Then she finds a strange book. A book that carries the scent of other worlds and tells a tale of secret doors, of love, adventure, and danger. Each page turn reveals impossible truths about the world, and January discovers a story increasingly entwined with her own.

Wonderful Worlds created with words here
Reviewed: 01-17-20
I, Chaya a Librarian in a small New England town, adored this book, the stories are well crafted , this is a delightful read. But....
One should not use a real person's last name and part of how they made money and turn them into your Energy/life sucking super villain. The Havemeyer name was cruelly used in this otherwise delicious novel. I think a story about the POWER of words, cannot wash away the use of someone's name and life with a disclaimer at the END of the book. I work with one of the real Havemeyer descents and I cringed repeatedly during this story. Her Grandfather lived in New York and didn't have a Island plantation. He was a merchant, of course he is culpable member of the sugar industry, and it is shameful indeed.
I get the metaphor and understand the choice of target. Yet it was extremely difficult to hear/read the Character's last name repeatedly. Next time please consider using a first name.
Please keep writing!
