The story and the writing is something I always enjoy when it comes to Kristin Hannah’s books. This was a phenomenal read.

The story of Miss Cust is one that even as a woman in the "modern era" I felt a connection with. So many strong women have paved the way for women in the workforce but there is still so much to be done and undone. I highly recommend giving it a read.

I enjoyed the different narrators for each person, it made the story feel akin to "Behind the Music".
Not a must read or one that I will read again but I did very much enjoy my time listening to this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it kept me engaged the whole time! I’ve read a lot of historical fiction about WWII and am always happy to learn about different contributions (especially female contributions). This book was a stand out for me! I listened to it fully on audible and the narration was fantastic.

A sad but must read story. It sheds a light on the awful history and even the current state of how women’s bodies are not their own, especially if they are poor, mentally disabled, or a person of color.

The book is fantastic! As someone of German heritage I appreciated the journey of discovery and the "Things German" sections. I always listen to audio books while I read along with the physical book because of my learning style. BUT if you are going to strictly listen to the audio book you won't get to experience the book as intended. The illustrations are so beautiful and help tell the story in such a unique way. I enjoyed it greatly!

I appreciated so much getting to learn the story of these brave and resilient sisters. This story as well as The Tattooist of Auschwitz and Cilka's Journey are all extremely important stories to read and understand. I thank Heather Morris for giving these important stories a platform in which they could be shared.

Barely about Gilmore Girls

Ahh man this book was disappointing. Because the book title says “from Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls” I went into it assuming that this book was going to be 90% about her experience on Gilmore Girls but it was only about 10% about Gilmore Girls. It is mostly about Lauren’s life in acting, which is fine if you aren’t expecting something completely different. I struggled to finish it. You can pass on it unless you are a huge fan of Lauren Graham.

I read and also listened to this book and it is such a fantastic story. I find myself trying to subtly find a way to tell everyone I know about it! Being raised a fundamental Christian I relate so much to the story specifically in importance of finding your own reality apart from what you were indoctrinated with as a child. Even if mine and Tara’s circumstances are not exact same, they are similar enough that I felt seen after reading this book.
