Story
In this compelling novel, Danielle Steel illuminates the dark side of one drunken night, with its tragic consequences, from every possible point of view. As the drama unfolds, the characters will reach a crossroads where they must choose between truth and lies, between what is easy and what is right, and find the moral compass they will need for the rest of their lives.

It's OK

Story wasn't bad, but didn't live up to what I expect from Danielle Steel. I have so deeply enjoyed so many of her books. This one was just ok, no more, no less. I also did not particularly like the reader either. I don't like when men try to sound like a women when they are reading a female's lines. That kind of bugged me.

Alaska, 1920: a brutal place to homestead, and especially tough for recent arrivals Jack and Mabel. Childless, they are drifting apart - he breaking under the weight of the work of the farm; she crumbling from loneliness and despair. In a moment of levity during the season's first snowfall, they build a child out of snow. The next morning the snow child is gone - but they glimpse a young, blonde-haired girl running through the trees. This little girl, who calls herself Faina, seems to be a child of the woods.

My Favorite Audio book Thus Far

I enjoyed this book so much that I divied up the chapters in the evenings like a decadent treat. The narrator was exceptional. Her reading, the inflections of her tone while she read , was as magical as the story itself. If was as if I was watching a play in my mind. Loved the characters and the story. It was delightful.

Good if you like half finished stories

Narrator was very good and I was enjoying the book...problem was the ending. This felt rushed and unfinished and there could have been several more chapters..the story could have been developed. IT was like getting a sample reading and it ended like you feel if you want to purchase the book to find out what happened.

This was a pretty good story. I would have given a higher overall reading, except I felt like it left me hanging towards the end. The story line gets intense and then it kind of drops you (felt like I missed a chapter) and picks up what happen after the fact. Felt like they should of taken you through it step by step., would have been good. Oh well, other then that, it was a pretty good book
