They have absolutely nothing in common . . . except that they happen to be sleeping with the same woman.

Great flawed and complicated characters!
Reviewed: 04-17-24
I love complicated and flawed protagonists! A lot of people are leaving lackluster reviews because they thought the two main characters weren’t likable, but I really love characters like that and loved seeing them both grow!

Story
Here is the novel that will be forever considered a triumph of the imagination. Set on the desert planet Arrakis, Dune is the story of the boy Paul Atreides, who would become the mysterious man known as Maud'dib. He would avenge the traitorous plot against his noble family and would bring to fruition humankind's most ancient and unattainable dream.

Great Book! But we need a new version of the audio book
Reviewed: 06-07-21
The audio book was still of great help (I’ve always wanted to read Dune) but the voice acting drops in and out of the story consistently making it hard to keep all the characters and story elements straight. Also certain voice actors bring a different acting energy to their performances that isn’t matched by the overall still wonderful narrator. Hopefully when the film is released, they will do a new audio book!
I still recommend this audio book though!
