Story
Dalinar Kholin challenged the evil god Odium to a contest of champions with the future of Roshar on the line. The Knights Radiant have only ten days to prepare—and the sudden ascension of the crafty and ruthless Taravangian to take Odium’s place has thrown everything into disarray. Desperate fighting continues simultaneously worldwide—Adolin in Azir, Sigzil and Venli at the Shattered Plains, and Jasnah in Thaylenah. The former assassin, Szeth, must cleanse his homeland of Shinovar from the dark influence of the Unmade.

extremely Disappointed for the final book in this ark

I knew something was off when I read, "I still write every word, and am the sole author of the books".
First off I hate to say this but you can probably skip the first 80 chapters and not miss much. This whole book seemed like filler. This could have been separated into a few novellas and I would have been fine with that. I've read all of Brandon Sanderson books and every chapter has kept my attention and makes me want to keep reading the books, unfortunately this book did not have the same affect. I lost interest in a lot of the chapters that I put the book down and didn't read for a couple of days because it was boring.
The LGBTQ parts in this book seems extremely forced and awkward. Seems like they finished the book then went back and added those. Ive ready plenty of books where gay couples come together very well. Not here making Renarin and Rlain gay just seems weird and forced. Like they waited the entire book series ark then they decided to make them gay and add LGBTQ themes.
Then when the sibling started talking to one of the woman about not have a gender and how she knew how that felt at the end of the chapters seemed very last minute. Like the chapter was over and then they added that. It added nothing to the story.
The awkward relationship between Wit and Jasnah seems weird too. Yes I get it showing that they weren't meant for each other but they added a whole sex scene for them.
Then the whole side story with Shallan was just pointless and just needed to be a novella.
Yeah they kind of finished her story line with Mraize and the ghostbloods, but damn that was boring at some parts.
Adolin's side story was actually very captivating for me. I loved his parts and it kept me at the edge of my seat when I was ready it. I do like that he's basically friends with all the dead eyes and can make armor and weapons for anyone.
Then there's Kaladin. He took a major backseat in this book. Yes I did like his story where he goes helps Szeth and his journey to heal. But man it seems like they didnt really prioritize him.
Lastly, the ending. I'm not a fan that it's going to be a time jump when the next ark starts most of the background characters could die in that time span. We'll have to see Brandon made it work for the mistborn series and I loved how each of those arks began and ended. Hopefully the ghostbloods ark is great just like the the previous arks.
Hopefully this whole Cosmere universe he's building works well and the next book he writes is another win. But as for this book it was a let down and now I have to wait like 5 years for the next ark.

I loved the twists to every story but hands down the best was Peter Pan. That was just a heart break and I would have read a full book on that story alone.
