Story
Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of Ardennes 1944 by Antony Beever, read by Sean Barrett. On 16 December 1944, Hitler launched his last gamble in the snow-covered forests and gorges of the Ardennes on the Belgian/German border. Although Hitler's generals were doubtful of success, younger officers and NCOs were desperate to believe that their homes and families could be saved from the vengeful Red Army approaching from the east.

A well documented and written account of one of the most pivotal battles on the Western Front from WWII.
Beevor does well to capture the planning, thinking and political atmosphere of all parties to the conflict. His anecdotes from personal diaries and press at the time does much to convey a sense of personal perspective from Generals to the soldiers fighting.
Recommend reading for any historian, enthusiast or student of WWII.

The Warmaster’s horde advances through the fire and ash of Terra's dying breaths, forcing the loyalists back to the Delphic Battlement—the very walls of the Sanctum Imperialis. Angron, Primarch of the World Eaters and Herald of Horus, has achieved immortality through annihilation—now he leads the armies of the damned in a wrathful tide, destroying all before them as the warp begins its poisonous corruption of Terra's very soil.

A dark, visceral, gritty and epic epitome of the grim dark

So dark
So epic
So complete
An excellent end to so many stories that sets the scene for what’s to come.
Although you know broadly what is coming, Demski Bowden adds enough twists, turns and nuance that even the most fervent followers of the series will enjoy.
Told with such passion and artistry that you’ll believe you are right there on the Royal Procession alongside the 9th and 12th…
