When Lana Lee’s best friend, Megan Riley, asks her to help host a speed dating contest at Ho-Lee Noodle House, she doesn’t see the harm in lending a hand. The night goes better than anticipated, and both Lana and Megan are beyond thrilled with the results. But before they can break out the champagne, Rina Su, fellow Asia Village shop owner and speed dating participant, calls to inform Lana that the date she’s just matched with has been murdered. I love rhese stories. Vivien, I am very very grateful you are still here with us! Thankful to be one of your supporters. Your afterword made me cry remembering your FB posts and all that you went through to be alive and well. Truly an inspiration... an inspiration I need right now as I figure out my own health challenges...I know reviews are very important and I want you and other fans and Audible to know that I have several of your books in print, all of them on Kindle and all on audible. Lana and crew continue to take me along on their sleuthing adventures. I really enjoy hearing about everyone at the plaza! I feel I may be picking up on another mystery at the plaza soon? The shop owners & staff there add insight and realness to Lana's inner reflections. Humorous, compassionate, intriguing.. I love their characters too.
Re: narration ... has been the only tricky thing about the books. Is the narrator's interpretation of her father's accent. Not sure why it changed but I've read and listened to all of these and so far he's been typical Américain dad stuff. It felt a little odd hearing him speak with a slightly Asian accent.. perhaps he's learning to speak with his mother in law & that's the reason for the change? Blessings, love and light to you Vivien ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Story
It was supposed to be a fancy, intimate dinner party by the pool. Instead, Lana Lee’s first-ever catering event turns into full-course madness when a domestic worker is found dead. Is the party’s host Donna Feng, the sweet-and-sour owner of the Asia Village shopping plaza where Ho-Lee is situated, somehow to blame? That’s what Lana―whose plate is already plenty full with running the restaurant, pleasing her often-disapproving mother, and fretting over her occasionally serious boyfriend Detective Adam Trudeau―must find out.

I love tour books Vivien 😍. I enjoy every minute of them. when Lana makes me laugh out loud and Kimi makes me fell oh so protective of her because she speaks her mind so freely haha. and Megan.. I wish I had a roommate like her. Trudeau sounds so fun and dreamy 😍. I want to be a character, maybe work in the Chinese herb shop, become friends with the Majong ladies. be Lana's friend and offer to walk Kiko when she can't. check out movies from Kimi's shop.. Learn to read tea leaves and perhaps be a part of solving one of the mysteries! Thank You Vivien for writing these stories, I hold them precious gems in my spirit. they help me get through some tough workdays... and moments of grief when I want to escape for a few hours at a time. They also accompany me on my housekeeping duties. I love hearing about all the characters, so very well plotted and developed.

I love the characters, storyline, all the action and excellent interwoven stories of each character in China Village. I love sipping my green tea, and occasionally trying to g to find the foods in the story so I ac make it that much more real.
What’s hard about this book is that the narrator changed.. and I didn’t realize it until I’d hit play. It was such a significant difference that I didn’t recognize the Lana I had come to know and love.. so I had to press pause for awhile, give my ears other stories to listen to and now I am back a few months later and as long as I don’t listen to the earlier books I think I can enjoy the rest. I don’t know what happened but I can guess the first narrator might not have been available at the time or perhaps she got sick or something else.. I hope she is well. I miss her voice so much!! She was a perfect Lana. The narrator for this and the rest of the books going forward has grown on me some. I crave Vivien’s books and so I am willing to set aside my auditory bias and do my best to immerse myself in the stories.
Lots of love to to Vivien❤️
Thank you for writing these 🩷💕♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

I enjoy Kit’s wit, humor that provides loads of laugh out loud moments. Action! Pizazz, a perfect amount of pop culture references offer me a sense of connection to the characters and have me immersed in the story as of in a movie. The narrator brings it alive on a visceral level—my body wants to move and fight during those kicking butt scenes. I can’t wait, but I will wait, albeit a teeny bit impatiently lol for the next installment of Kit & Co. ♥️

This book is a work of art. Rhe author doesn’t sugarcoat ancient Egyptian life like some of the more spiritual/new age, channeled type books do. The author is a true scientist, and also a mystery writer of sorts because we are still left with many unanswered questions about ancient Egypt, I love Egypt and I am fascinated and inspired to keep learning. .I’ve visited once now and plan to return. Reading these books has provided me with more in-depth knowledge, resources and stories so that upon my next visit I know I will feel a deeper appreciation for the the art, people and remnants. I am very grateful for this book and the others by this author. There were many times ancient practices were upsetting, disturbing (namely how the royals married and had families. Another culture, another time? This book took me awhile to get through, and it was well worth it!

It’s not often there comes along a short audiobook I love that has it all: humor, sweetness, normal and understandable disagreements, and miscommunications with adults working through them like regular emotionally mature people do. Oh and the food descriptions are divine! I want to bake the things they bake! It’s so cute how the book is about a series of cozy mysteries. The protagonists that seem real, not fake/contrived or like I wouldn’t know them in real life. This story is so believable and lively. It’s heartwarming to see mature adults in romance and not some pretend everyone is a billionaire wanting to marry their secretary stuff. Too much of that stuff out there. This is a genuine story of love, loss and healing. I wonder what a longer version of this story could be? I hope there will be more in this series.. or at least like it from the author.

This Psych 312 assignment just might send me off the deep end. Determining whether love at first sight really exists with Robbie Moravian as my project partner of all people? He’s the sappiest man alive, so upbeat I could scream, and clearly rooting for happy endings at every turn. How does he not learn from experience considering our own meet-cute last semester almost got us expelled? But we both need to pass this course to graduate. So we’re interviewing five random couples about their meet-cutes and relationships and spending all this time together. Which is certainly...educational.

Had me laughing out loud, surprised and hilarious! Kinda thrilling and mysterious too. Fantastic characters, lots of depth, some dark, tragic stuff and plenty of emotionality. I am so glad I found this book! I needed this excitement, humor, seriousness and some sadness. The writer did a great job. Plus, I live love live the narrator. She’s done all of my favorite Annette Marie series and it felt like listening to an old friend tell me new stories. I already have the next two books. ♥️🩷🫶🏼👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

Dr. Jeffrey Gurian shares in his book Healing Your Heart, By Changing Your Mind - A Spiritual and Humorous Approach to Achieving Happiness how he has learned through his own personal experience and years of study to overcome all the above and more. Burdened with a severe stutter until he was in his 20's and beyond, seemingly unable to be helped by therapy, and combined with the confusion of A.D.D. and a bit of O.C.D. thrown in, he was faced with having to deal with that for the rest of his life.

I loved everything about this book! There’s so much action packed adventure, heartfelt talks and meaningful moments between characters. I wonder if there will ever be short story asides. I know there’s the one that tells the tale of Jenks and Trent’s adventure. I wonder if we’ll ever hear Vivien’s perspective of things.. this story leaves me curious and hungry for more! This is my 3rd listen to the series and I’ve read the hardbacks 2x altogether. Harrison’s books always fulfill their promise for intrigue, action, romance, tragedy and overcoming the obstacles. Love all the attention to detail and nuance of relationships. I am picking up on little tidbits of foreshadowing for future novels and that’s exciting!!
