The author keeps it going. I don't know how, but he is riding the edge. This book almost made me mad, but I was ultimately satisfied. Thanks Craig! Keep moving the story forward please.

Story
After saving the world many times, the Merry Band of Pirates have accepted the inevitable: Earth is doomed. All they can do is try to bring a few thousand people to safety, before vicious aliens arrive to destroy humanity's home world. No. There is one other thing they can do: hit the enemy so hard that the aliens will regret they ever heard of humans.

Now only a few stand between humankind and annihilation: Raithe, reluctant to embrace his destiny as the God Killer. Suri, a young seer burdened by signs of impending doom. Story
Colonel Joe Bishop made a promise and he's going to keep it; taking the captured alien starship Flying Dutchman back out. He doesn't agree when the UN decides to send almost 70 elite Special Operations troops, hotshot pilots, and scientists with him; the mission is a fool's errand he doesn't expect to ever return from. At least, this time, the Earth is safe, right? Not so much.

What made the experience of listening to SpecOps the most enjoyable?
Everything!
What other book might you compare SpecOps to and why?
Star Wars: Fate of the Jedi, but this is better
What about R.C. Bray’s performance did you like?
He is a god of narration. He belongs among the greats, like Grover Gardener and Marc Thompson!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, definitely. I found myself excited about life. Existence gained purpose with this book!
Any additional comments?
I like the story and the universe. I had to write a review because I want the sequel so bad. This is going to become a movie for sure. It will be directed by someone famous and well known. I just know it. The author is a student of the best like Heinlein and Herbert. He is one of the pioneers that continues to move the science fiction genre forward. The universe is just so well developed. It is like a 90's cartoon like the Thundercats combined with star wars. I think the AI in this book is probably the best robot since C3PO. He should probably be voiced by Andy Serkis in the movie, who is the only person who could do it better than R.C. Bray. But please come out with the sequel. I am dying here from lack of awesomeness!! The monkeys need some more from the all powerful!

The story line tells the origins of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood and its breeding program, the human-computer Mentats, and the Navigators (the Spacing Guild), as well as a crucial battle for the future of the human race, in which reason faces off against fanaticism. These events have far-reaching consequences that will set the stage for Dune, millennia later.

better than star wars: fate of the jedi series
Reviewed: 09-30-16
the series was slow, i admit. but the plot was deep and there were a few twists and turns. not a lot of action, but just enough. i recommend doing more character voices like marc thompson and get better sound effects. i need to hear laser blasts and space ship sounds. better than the robot apocolypse trilogy. as much as i like star wars books, the dune books are way deeper. plus frank herberts sons books are way easier to understand than the originals, i kind of like that. well developed characters. i propose selling the series to lucasfilm and have peter jackson direct a movie saga. anyways, super epic, good scifi. mostly appropriate for younger audiences too, which my innocent mind appreciates.

Story
When Han and Leia Solo arrive at Lando Calrissian’s Outer Rim mining operation to help him thwart a hostile takeover, their aim is just to even up the odds and lay down the law. Then monstrous aliens arrive with a message, and mere threats escalate into violent sabotage with mass fatalities. When the dust settles, what began as corporate warfare becomes a battle with much higher stakes - and far deadlier consequences. Now Han, Leia, and Luke team up once again in a quest to defeat a dangerous adversary bent on galaxy-wide domination.

What did you love best about Crucible: Star Wars?
I loved the characters. Marc Thompson brings them to life like a god breathing into mud sculptures.
What did you like best about this story?
Vestara Khai. I wish Ben Skywalker would just marry her. But now we will never know since Disney will not make a sequel.
What about Marc Thompson’s performance did you like?
Everything. He is by far the best narrator out of any book ever. Of course, all the epic sound affects do help.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The lightsaber fights.
Any additional comments?
It felt like a natural sequel to the fate of the jedi series.
