Interesting story, weak characters

I really liked the story, especially a few twists that it takes. But I thought that the main character was one-dimensional and not very interesting. Overall, this book is worth a listen if you like science and space exploration, especially SETI.

George W. Bush, the 43rd president of the United States, has authored a personal biography of his father, George H. W. Bush, the 41st president. Forty-three men have served as president of the United States. Countless books have been written about them. But never before has a president told the story of his father, another president, through his own eyes and in his own words. A unique and intimate biography, the book covers the entire scope of the elder President Bush’s life and career.

I really learned a lot about George HW Bush in this book. I was just a kid when he was president said it was interesting to learn all about him. what I wanted were more personal anecdotes or stories, since it was his son writing this book.
I decided to purchase this book after I read a comment on Michelle Obama's book's page that recommended it. Thank you whoever you are.

With his trademark mirth and boundless charisma, actor Nick Offerman brought the loveable shenanigans of Twain's adolescent hero to life in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer. Now, in yet another virtuosic performance, the actor proves that despite being separated by a span of over a century, his connection to the author and his work is undeniable and that theirs is a timeless collaboration that should not be missed.

I thought it was going to be more of a humorous time traveling adventure, but it was more of a historical commentary on the monarchy system. The protagonist of the story tries to bring 19th century ideas to the 6th century.

Dale Maharidge’s father, like many World War II veterans, never talked about “the good war”. There was just one clue to his dad’s experience as a US Marine - a portrait with a close friend that hung permanently in their home. In The Dead Drink First, Dale, now a Pulitzer Prize-winning author, recounts his 18-year quest to find and repatriate the missing remains of his dad’s buddy, Herman Walter Mulligan, 73 years after he was killed in action.

I learned some things about WW2 that I didn't know before.
The reason I didn't give this book five stars is because there were several places where I could not hear or understand what people were saying.

Story
Father of cyberpunk William Gibson’s original script for Alien III, written in 1987 as a sequel to Aliens, never made it to our screens, although it went on to achieve cult status among fans as the third instalment that might have been after being leaked online. This terrifying, cinematic multicast dramatisation - directed by the multi-award-winning Dirk Maggs - is the chance to experience William Gibson’s untold story and its terrifying, claustrophobic and dark encounters between humans and aliens, as a completely immersive audio experience.

A good story, I wouldn't say a kid's story because it still has its bloody scenes. I like that I got more of the back story to Game of Thrones. The length is more reasonable for a newbie like me, who is just coming to the book series after watching the TV show.

I really liked this audiobook. It's more like listening to a program on NPR. There were a lot of parts that left it up to your imagination because they were out interviewing somebody on location so we don't get to see that, but I thought all in all it was very good. I would have liked to see the TV show made from this book.

Good narration but the story itself does not hold up. The idea behind the novel is clever, but for me, it didn't have enough horror nor drama to keep me interested.
