Story
Reidon Ward will become a god. He doesn't know it yet, of course. Reidon was born weak, sickly, and small. Afflicted with a painful disease and abandoned by his parents because of it, he has had to fight tooth and nail for every minor advantage life has allowed him. However, his perseverance has not gone unnoticed, and when the most powerful artificial intelligence in human history takes an interest in him, things began to change quickly.

A Great Start

Not since "The Name of the Wind" have I been so completely engrossed by a novel. This is probably the best underdog story since Rocky. I really appreciate that the protagonist is a very likable character and to a point relatable because it wasn't his fault he was delt a bad hand. Really looking forward to seeing where this journey goes.

I personally felt the first book was amazing. This book is a mess. Felt rushed. Added woke garbage that was out of place. Wade really became unlikable and a hypocrite. The conclusion was kinda fun but then the book kept going. The ending of the book was confusing, weird, and honestly completely out of place.

Story
What does the most powerful wizard in the world do after the war? Despite the hordes of goblins still ready to ravage human lands, King Rard has signed a treaty with them, so Minalan is forbidden from taking advantage of their weak state. Most would take a well-deserved rest over the summer…but Minalan and his household are busy repaying a favor owed to the tribal Kasari for their help in the war, and the Spellmonger pays his debts. So Minalan spends his summer sneaking 2,000 Kasari children through enemy lines and some of the roughest territory in the Five Duchies toward salvation.

Great, but lacking.

I have really enjoyed this series. Some of the best characters and world building. This book was good and definitely had some important moments for the grand plot, but I feel it was more of a filler or used for cushioning. The fourth book could of been skipped and I feel this book could of been summarized and used for the first part of a larger novel.

Story
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

This book told a very realistic portrait of what an apocalyptic world would be like. Weather you like it or not the hard truths and new realities are something everyone faces in their own way.

Story
Matt Hollis is the current wielder of the holy weapon, DÄMOREN. With it, he stalks and destroys demons. A secret society called the VALDUCANS has taken an interest in Matt's activities. They see him as a reckless rogue - little more than a "cowboy" corrupted by a monster - and a potential threat to their ancient order. As knights and their sentient weapons begin dying, Matt teams up with other hunters of his kind such as LUIZA, a woman with a conquistador blade; ALLAN, an Englishman with an Egyptian khopesh; MALCOLM, a voodoo priest with a sanctified machete; and TAKAIRA, a naginata-swinging Samurai.

The performance pulled me into the story. Dark action fantasy. Good world building and character development.
