I found this show around the time we were all facing the pandemic, I never listen to podcasts and this was the one that got me started. I was looking for lgbtq books that weren't the typical coming of age, tragic or erotic stories just a regular book with all gay characters or at least the main protagonist. That's how this podcasts appeared on my suggestions.

I love it. I have found so many authors that I would not have found and have discovered a world that I did not know actually does exist. We all been to bookstores and seen the pitiful shelf with lgbtq books and themes next to the self help books. This podcast has really given so much and I am so happy it was created.

I love the book suggestions and the interviews with the authors. This year not only have I read many more books by lgbtq authors but I have been inspired to keep writing and hopefully one day real soon publish because gay theme books and authors do exist and readers for these works do to.

It's a small process of growing and excepting each other but I see more and more people reading books and liking it for what it is, regardless if the characters are straight or gay.

Sadly this podcast is ending but I was happy to go on the ride. Thank you Brad.

I got this book in a two for one deal and it was a good read. I like mystery, the ones I read are usually darker so this one was a breath of fresh air even though it did have a murderer in it.

I liked the set up of the story and all the interesting characters. I really enjoyed the flow of the story, we were all getting the clues at the same time and we were all making theories as to who it was and why they might have done it.

Towards the end I wished I could have figured it out but I didn't and I like that we not only got to see who the killer is but we got the full story of other characters that also had something to hide.

My first thought after I finished was is Guillermo del Toro already working on the movie?

was such a good book, I wasn't hopeful because it had so much people talking about it but it was really good.

It's set in Mexico and it still catches that English gothic feel, including a creepy house, cemetery and foggy night's.

Very well written and it did take me to that place. Everything around and the way the author described everything was a perfect fit.

I don't want to say anything about the story or characters I just want to review how great it was set up.

The story also creepy, when you get the full story then you feel that disgusting feeling that kept crawling at you from the beginning come to a full circle. The family and the mushrooms or fungus are really just one thing and it's spreading and consuming everything.

I did enjoy the ending because there was a settle hint that maybe the horrors of the house and the family aren't quite over.

This book is fiction but it does reflect a lot of what has happen in the reason years with powerful men abusing there power and taking advantage of others. We all saw them fall from grace and we all saw their true nature.

This story we follow a young man who went thru the same thing. I do wish the author would have gone more in depth with what he went thru afterwards because the story does focus more on what he went thru and the ending was the result. We do see how he was pulled into this world and tricked into this and at times I was frustrated that he wasn't strong enough to fight back and to be honest he was always the victim. And this puts the reader in that mind set of wondering what you would do and how people fall to this.

Was this over exaggerated for the purpose of the book? I would say yes but then I heard the stories of what actually has happened and then I think maybe it's not.

It's a good story overall all but I am left unsatisfied. I wish he had burn everything down, that he should have fought back a long time ago. The main character I just found so hard to relate because I was always seeing good opportunities by pass him but he wouldn't take them.

And from a very young age he is easily manipulated and has a high sex drive and has always done risky things so sometimes you do blame him for everything but also feel sympathy because he shouldn't of been treated like that.

I will say that that must be what the book is all about, It's not simple and it's not easy.

The first book was an interesting book it really introduces this world and I became a fan.

There were alot of unanswered question left in the air and I was never to convinced on the wedding since magic was the reason why they met. This book I thought would settle everything and it did but I was surprised that after all they are still together.

This book was another mystery with a murderer on the loose, I did see who it was until the end which I like because in other books it becomes very clear who it is right away.

The other thing is the incident in Paris, who pushed him if it wasn't him? And then we have the other crazy woman from the other book who might be released so let's see how that goes.

I hope that the relationship between the main characters stays on throughout the books, they should work it out and now I'm also wondering if Cosmos is pregnant?

At the beginning it was a little confusing at first because of the jumping from one character to another and then from present to pass but by the end that is what makes this such a good story.

You have two stories, one takes place in the pass the other in the present. What connects everything is that it's in the same house and it involves people in the same family.

The second thing you have is the different perspectives. We see the same story but it's being played out by the different characters and they experience it differently.

What was so creative was that we got to learn what really is going on until the main character did and we saw more things than she did because we saw what her son was doing before she did.

I like that in the middle of the story there was a moment where maybe it was all not real and everything could be explained but then a little further along we saw that that wasn't the case at all.

The author did such an amazing job, I will definitely be looking for other books by her and keeping my fingers cross that a movie comes out of these books.

I enjoyed the story but it wasn't as interesting as I thought it would be. It did have a lot of parts that help progress the Avatar story and I like that we get to meet this Avatar which is one of the most interesting of all or so I always thought.

I like reading it but at times the story was a bit boring, maybe I wanted more action. And there were times were parts of this story were similar to Aang, the whole a group of friends coming together to help the Avatar. It was more interesting because these friends are really good people, not evil but they're a little bad.

I did like that she is openly gay, I'm hoping it stays like that and they don't do that whole she also likes boys like they like to do when they can't just have a gay character.

What I did enjoy is finally knowing why she wore what she wore, and how she uses her fans. Because it was always strange to see an earth bender with fans.

Overall I enjoyed it, I hope they make it into a series and not a movie and I will be looking for part 2.

I've read this book many times this is the first time I use audiobook. The narrator is amazing, she does such a good job with this story.

The story is about a young woman named Janie who wants to be free. Their is a funny part in the beginning where she sees a photo of herself and finds out she is black. This sets the mood of the story and character, she is black and their is still alot of obstacles to go thru but things are looking up. There is change in the air and you can say Janie's life was an example of someone who had more than the other generations. Thru out the book you see examples of this. You see beyond black and white, you see the changes and power.

Janie had a rough start but when she made the decision to leave her first husband things got better. She live a nicer life and did have that certain something that the generation before her never did.

As a woman she wasn't completely free because she still was treated as a second to her husband. You can see that Janie is clever and wants to be able to do what she wants but someone is always holding her back.

Tea Cake was really the best thing she had and ofcourse she looses him to. It took her a long time to find someone that actually likes her for her. I really do think he loved and care for her and never wanted to take from her. The few last words he says after he was killed showed a glimpse into his mind which compare to Janie we were really in the dark with him. I was unsure myself and never really trusted him until the end. When he is in a dazed from the sickness he confesses that he knows he was never good enough for her. That made me think that he spent most of his time thinking he needed to prove to her that he loves her.

It isn't all good, this book is very close to life. No knight came to save her and their wasn't a happily ever after. It wasn't a bad life she had a great life but it also wasn't this fantasy.

This story is surprisingly good. I'm always let down in books that have a lgbtq theme but this one was really good.

The main story is the ghost story, the mystery behind this house and family and the hints that something might be wrong. Its a true gothic ghost story. We have the widower who might be a killer, from beginning we aren't to sure. We don't get to see the whole character until further in the story. Then we have the two children twins, which adds to the spooky factor. One talks then other one doesn't, they witnessed something or know something. Then we have the people who work in the house, very mysterious people who don't seem to care for the new guy.

The tutor is an interesting character because he also has his own secrets. He lied about who he was or his background and happens to be gay. The story adds another level when he starts to experience paranormal phenomenon in the house and the adds another layer when we find out he is attracted to the man of the house.

The build up was amazing, very satisfying. First we have the mystery of the house and second the attraction between the two men. We see them almost connecting, the looks the maybe maybe not and then we get the full on connection. At first its unclear if it's just a one time thing or lust but towards the end it has a happy ending.

The ghost part also comes full circle, we finally know what really happen to the mother and why the boys are the way they are. This darkness around the house is evil and it can take anyone. I also like that it's unclear if it was completely destroyed or is it just contained.

The whole story was great because it had so many things I like, mystery, ghost, gothic house and romance.
