Historia
The only possible thing that could make Morgan's world even more difficult happened. The Japanese fleet off the coast of California was wiped out. An even that Morgan and friends and family only knew about because of the radio broadcasts from the Radio Free Redoubt. So far removed from them it barely warranted notice. That is until the Chinese retaliated by launching a nuclear counter-strike against Mac Dill Air Force base. This, did warrant their attention and had the potential to profoundly impact their lives.

I went to a garden party
Revisado: 04-15-18
I was disappointed in this book. I really like the Going Home series but this one was off the mark. I'm not sure the community would be so lackadaisical after a nuclear attack. One big annoyance from the whole series is still here. The Little Bit character has got to be one of the most obnoxious characters in any series I have read. The constant "I want" from her is just aggravating. This whole book gave me the Ricky Nelson garden party feeling with one small battle thrown in for grins.
Not sure I could condone murder over a dog. Duke Fontaine did a pretty good job again. There were a couple of times he overlapped voices from different people but other then that he did good.

Historia
For years, the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security issued warnings - the United States was vulnerable to a cyber-attack. It was 2017 when the attack was finally launched, coming from a direction that no one had predicted, with consequences beyond imagination. Wyatt and his family were already on the down and out. Years fighting through a struggling economy, tight credit, and government regulations had already taken their toll. When society collapses, they have one chance left - a lifeboat awash in a sea of anarchy.

I didn't really like this book.
Revisado: 03-18-18
I really like the Holding Their Own series. I'm glad I found it before I listened to this book. Had I listened to Apocalypse Drift first I probably wouldn't have bothered with Bishop and Terry. This was a mediocre book with way too many characters.

Not a good read.
Revisado: 10-01-17
I really like A. Americans going home series. His collaborative books have been a disaster in my opinion. Cry Havoc with G. Michael Hopf was bad. This book with Walt Browning is not good. The prequel to it was pretty good. I am hoping that the involvement of A. American in this book was to give Browning the guideline to the going home universe and letting Browning hack away at it. The writing style is not A. American and it sounds like a grade school child wrote some of it. When the police officer goes into his lecture on what Charlie and her group need to survive it reminded me of many bad authors who write second rate SHTF books and try to impress the reader with their superior survival skills and knowledge. It just doesn't work. Even Duke Fontaine couldn't make this enjoyable.
Bottom line is that I am not happy that I wasted a credit on this book. After two stinkers like Cry Havoc and Demoncide I will only be buying going home books.
