One of the best out there

This was the best book I have read on masculinity and patriarchy since bell hooks! Intersectional, nuanced, accountability driven, and beautifully written. Must read for men looking to heal and be better.

Story
Everyone needs to love and be loved - even men. But to know love, men must be able to look at the ways that patriarchal culture keeps them from knowing themselves, from being in touch with their feelings, from loving. In The Will to Change, bell hooks gets to the heart of the matter and shows men how to express the emotions that are a fundamental part of who they are - whatever their age, marital status, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.

Best book on Masculinity

Legitimately the best and most nuanced book on masculinity I've found. Full of love and accountability towards a collective and collaborative future without the oppression of patriarchal harm of men and harm of all genders.

Story
In this brilliant book, Isabel Wilkerson gives us a masterful portrait of an unseen phenomenon in America as she explores, through an immersive, deeply researched narrative and stories about real people, how America today and throughout its history has been shaped by a hidden caste system, a rigid hierarchy of human rankings. Beautifully written, original, and revealing, Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents is an eye-opening story of people and history, and a reexamination of what lies under the surface of ordinary lives and of American life today.

Most paradigm shifting book I've ever read

Caste is not only beautifully written with profound metaphors and vulnerable stories, it is also unbelievably brilliant. The framework with which Isabel Wilkerson unveils, shines new light on the underlying structures of the American systems and culture in a way that contextualizes racism, oppression, and privledge clearly and is impossible to deny if one is honest with themselves. Everyone needs to read this book and especially white people (like me) who historically and currently benifit from the American Caste system at the immeasurable expense to everyone else.

This actionable guidebook illustrates how to engage in the heart-centered and mindfulness-based practices that will help us all fight white supremacy from the inside out, in our personal lives and communities alike. It is a loving and assertive call to do the deep - and often uncomfortable - inner work that precipitates much-needed external and global change.
