Story
Mrs. Post, the President and First Lady are here to see you. . . . So begins another average evening for Marjorie Merriweather Post. Presidents have come and gone, but she has hosted them all. Growing up in the modest farmlands of Battle Creek, Michigan, Marjorie was inspired by a few simple rules: always think for yourself, never take success for granted, and work hard—even when deemed American royalty, even while covered in imperial diamonds.

What a life and what a story.

I loved reading about someone who is not a perfect woman. Ms Post felt anger, jealously, and other human shorts. I do prefer mire narraters for the parts and I wish I had the book to see if there are notes. I’m just “hue does a biographer know what 2 people say in bed. I would recommend

I liked the story and the character. Good short fast read. I think the narration would have been enhanced with American accent and pronunciation. But overall 4 star

Story
Charming, insightful and immensely entertaining in its unique presentation of one of America's legendary figures, Mount Vernon Love Story, by famed suspense writer Mary Higgins Clark, shows the reader the man behind the legend, a man of flesh, blood and passion, and in the author's skilled hands, the story and the man come fully and dramatically alive.
Mary Higgins Clark's interest in George Washington was first sparked by a radio series she was writing in the 1960s, called "Portrait of a Patriot."

Read for a book club. Very enjoyable book. Ms Clark and the narrator make the real life characters real life people, not just historical figures in portraits and on coins

The golden skies, the translucent twilight, the white nights all hold the promise of youth, of love, of eternal renewal. I have good stars but felt like I was in Hallmark romance movie, at times XXX rated. As far as performance— Alex was great but too little girl squeaky in Tatiana. Just my opinion. Overall, glad I listened
