Teen Book?
Reviewed: 03-12-25
I listened to the entire series but it did seem to get sillier & sillier. I’m okay with YA, but these books skipped all over the place. It felt like it was geared for 13-14 year olds. I had not seen that in the comments. The narration was good, though! Just not much of a story line.

Terrible Naration
Reviewed: 02-20-25
I hope “The Vampire Wish” series is better than this! I’m starting with the prequel. I’m glad it’s short bc the narration is almost unbearable! He has a pleasing voice but it sounds like someone is reading a book aloud for the first time. The emotions sound fake. His deep voice doesn’t move well between the male/female voices. Others seem to like the narrator, though, so I’ll give the series a shot. I don’t like to give a poor review on a narrator, but this is just bad. I like the backstory, though!!

Story
Charlie Wynwood and Silas Nash have been best friends since they could walk. They've been in love since the age of 14. But as of this morning...they are complete strangers. Their first kiss, their first fight, the moment they fell in love...every memory has vanished. Now Charlie and Silas must work together to uncover the truth about what happened to them and why. But the more they learn about the couple they used to be...the more they question why they were ever together to begin with. Forgetting is terrifying, but remembering may be worse.

This reminded me a bit of 50 First Dates, but neither remembered the other. Each day was new without too much repetition. I believed in their love and that’s what this is… a love story. It’s definitely YA, and it was nice to have the simplicity of soul mates.

Story
In the early 2000s, after years of hard work and determination to breakthrough as an actor, Bethany Joy Lenz was finally cast as one of the leads on the hit drama One Tree Hill. Her career was about to take off, but her personal life was slowly beginning to unravel. What none of the show’s millions of fans knew, hidden even from her costars, was her secret double life in a cult. An only child who always wanted a place to belong, Lenz found the safe haven she’d been searching for in a Bible study group with other Hollywood creatives. However, the group soon morphed into something more sinister.

Isla Crown has secured the love of two powerful rulers and broken the curses that plagued the six realms for centuries, but few know the true origins of her powers. Now, in the wake of a crushing betrayal, Isla finds herself hungry for distraction, preferring to frequent Lightlark’s seductive haunts instead of embracing her duties as the newly crowned leader of two separate realms. Worse, her fellow rulers haven’t ceded victory quietly, and there are others in Isla’s midst who don’t believe her ascent to power was earned.

Book #2, definitely read #1 first! While I loved the ending of Book 1, it was a bit slow and took me a while to get really in to it & I was afraid this might start slow, too. Nope! I was hooked from the start and listened all day long!! It ties it all together at the end as Iska’s full memories are returned. The story is set up well for the Book 3 conclusion, which I have already pre-ordered for the November 12 release date! I can’t wait!! And, yes, I cried!!!!!

Beautiful, Heart wrenching, True Teen Love ♥️
Reviewed: 06-14-24
I bought this is paperback for my granddaughter from her Christmas list. When I came across it in Audible, I thought, “Let me see what she’s reading”. I fell asleep listening, woke up and listened until it was finished! Truly a beautiful teen love story. Although YA, and written from a teen prospective, I think adults of all ages will connect as they are transported back to the very real, all-consuming feelings of first love. This book is not “spicy” although there are a couple of sex scenes. The focus is on the feelings involved, not the physical act. Highly recommend, especially if you’ve been stuck in another genre for awhile! This book is perfect to cleanse the palette. I loved it!

I had a really hard time getting through book 1. I started and stopped it several times over 3 months but I love Chandra’s books and finally stuck with it. I’m so glad I did because this book was SO much better! Many questions were answered and we get a deeper view of the main characters. I loved the introduction of the wolf and Faraway is funny!! I don’t want to give anything away but there’s so much going on! Definitely worth reading!!!

From the woman who is credited for launching what we know as the celebrity focused, “brand” driven, social media obsessed popular culture of today, comes an honest and surprising memoir that reckons with that truth, and shows that there is so much more to Paris Hilton than you might believe. This extended edition includes a bonus chapter detailing her motherhood journey.

I loved this book! Paris Hilton is smart, funny and owns her triumphs and mistakes. I’m not really into celebrity gossip but I do love celebrity autobiographies. Everything in this book rings true. It broke my heart to hear of her time trapped at SEBU (sp?) and Provo…. places my younger brother was sent to. Those places are awful! I applaud her for the strength it must have taken to share the bad stuff with the world. I have a whole new respect for her. I’ve never seen “The Simple Life” but I’m going to start watching tomorrow!!

When she’s finally taken in by an adoptive family at seventeen, Nica thinks she’s leaving the group home, its torments, and her prison of otherworldly tales behind her. That is, until Rigel—a young man raised from birth in the same dreadful orphanage—joins her new family.
