Story
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Story was engaging and the narrator was one of the best I’ve heard! Each character had his or her own distinct voice. Loved it!

Story
King's Cross is Timothy Keller's revelatory look at the life of Christ as told in the Gospel of Mark. There have been many biographies of Jesus, but few will be as anticipated as this one by Keller, the man Newsweek calls "a C. S. Lewis for the 21st century". In it, Keller shows how the story of Jesus is at once cosmic, historical, and personal, calling each of us to look anew at our relationship with God.

Story
Fear is the devil's favorite tool in the toolbox of schemes he uses to destroy God's good plan for you. He uses it to hold you back and prevent progress in your relationships, career, and more. In Do It Afraid, Joyce Meyer explains that fear is everywhere and affects everyone. It rules many people, but it doesn't have to rule you any longer.

Joyce Meyer is able to communicate the "how to's"
Reviewed: 03-23-22
Joyce is so practical and communicates the "how to's" if the Christian life in ways that help me immensely! Thank you, Joyce! I really like that she reads this book herself. It's always better when the author can give all the emphases and intended inflections in their writing.

Story
Building on her signature message of using the mind to master difficult emotions, Joyce Meyer focuses on the most destructive, insidious one of all: anger. It is responsible for broken relationships, sleepless nights, high blood pressure and ulcers. It destroys friendships, marriages and families, not to mention peace of mind. Anger is especially hard to handle for many Christians who have learned from childhood that "good Christians don't get angry." Meyer argues that properly handled, anger is an alert system that something is wrong and needs to be resolved.

Story
A perfect blend of medical drama and spiritual insight, Gray Matter is a fascinating account of Dr. David Levy's decision to begin asking his patients if he could pray for them before surgery. Some are thrilled. Some are skeptical. Some are hostile, and some are quite literally transformed by the request.

Impactful!
Reviewed: 02-20-22
I was so impacted and encouraged by Dr. Levy's story that I also bought the book to read aloud with my husband who has worked in a multi-specialty neurology practice. Hearing Dr. Levy's unconventional entrance to neurosurgery and the journey of an ego-filled, highly intelligent and driven man as he met God in the midst of his practice will resonate with him. I want a hard copy of the book so I can reread the way Dr. Levy communicated God's forgiveness to patients and what he learned about it for himself. Thank you, Dr. Levy, for telling God's story in your life! (The narrator was good and easy to listen to but read the first couple chapters way too slowly! I almost stopped listening after 2-3 chapters. Glad I didn't, though!)
