A wonderfully written book on the insight of a teenager with a terminal disease and her family around her. Nice coming of age, with tears.

This was the book I read from Tik Tok this year and I was hoping for so much more. As I read this it felt like Disney and Marvel got together and decided to hire Greta Thunberg, Stephanie Meyer, and Kiera Cass as writers to make a story. This is not meant as an insult. They each have their own talents. In fact I actually love Kiera Cass! But I digress. The book just felt over written and had no originality. All that being said when I was a teenager I would have loved this book. Not sure if the story gets better in the other books but I am not reading any more of them after reading this one.

I cannot remember who suggested this book to me but all I can say is thank you. It is so well written and constructed to be relatable in so many ways. Your heart will yearn for the characters. Their lives become an investment, as you read, that you never knew you needed. Yes, there is some predictability but it never makes the book stale.
My heart flowed with each character, guided by the words of the author. And I will never be the say as I was before “In Five Years.”
