Story
The world knows Lamar Odom as a two-time NBA world champion who rocketed to uncharted heights of fame thanks to being a member of both the storied Los Angeles Lakers and the ubiquitous Kardashian empire. But who is Lamar, really? Fans have long praised his accessibility and genuine everyman quality - he is a blinding talent who has suffered a series of heartaches, setback, and loss.

I loved this book so much more than I thought I would. Very interesting story. You can’t help but root for Lamar throughout the book. I also loved the basketball aspect of it. The book is very well written. Reading this raw and honest account of his life has turned me into a big Lamar fan.

Story
When Singer sewing machine tycoon Edward Clark built a luxury apartment building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side in the late 1800s, it was derisively dubbed “the Dakota” for being as far from the center of the downtown action as its namesake territory on the nation’s western frontier. Despite its remote location, the quirky German Renaissance-style castle, with its intricate façade, peculiar interior design, and gargoyle guardians peering down on Central Park, was an immediate hit, particularly among the city’s well-heeled intellectuals and artists.

Absolutely loved this book. The stories are so fascinating and detailed. The research this author did is astounding. The writing style is brilliant. I felt like I was right inside the fascinating history of this building and the evolving city of New York. I also loved the narrator. He’s such an entertaining reader I’m going to check out other audiobooks he’s read.

Mindy does not disappoint in her second book. She's hilarious and the book is all around entertaining. She does a great job narrating. I was kind of sad when I finished it.

Story
In the tradition of New York Times best sellers What Remains by Carole Radziwill and Oh the Glory of It All by Sean Wilsey, Christina McDowell's unflinching memoir is a brutally honest, cautionary tale about one family's destruction in the wake of the Wall Street implosion.

Giuliana Rancic is best known for interviewing A-listers on the red carpet and E! News, skewering their shocking style choices on Fashion Police, and giving viewers a front-row seat to her marriage and family life on her reality show, Giuliana & Bill. What fans may not know is that she learned English from Eddie Murphy, got her American citizenship so she could be a beauty queen, and used to have a bad habit of stealing cars for fun.

Story
There has never been a craze like Beanie Babies. The $5 beanbag animals with names like Seaweed the Otter and Gigi the Poodle drove millions of Americans into a greed-fueled frenzy as they chased the rarest Beanie Babies, whose values escalated weekly in the late 1990s. A single Beanie Baby sold for $10,000, and on eBay the animals comprised 10 percent of all sales.

What did you like best about this story?
Great story about the persistence in following your passion (Ty Warner) and the downfall of his company lead by greed. However this is not your standard cautionary tale. The craze that swept the nation over little stuffed animals in mind boggling. The craze also coincided with the beginning of mainstream Internet and Ebay which makes the story even more compelling.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could not stop listening to this book. The Great Beanie Baby Bubble has all 3 attributes I look for in an audiobook - Great story/ well written / excellent narrator
Any additional comments?
Take a chance on this one. It's worth it.
