The Gathering by C.J. Tudor is a gripping and thought-provoking thriller that expertly blends supernatural elements with real world issues. The vampires in this universe are refreshingly unique—open and visible to the world, yet still subjected to harsh discrimination and prejudice. This dynamic serves as a powerful allegory for the racism and biases that many face daily, especially in the United States.

The twist at the end is truly satisfying, adding an unexpected layer to an already tense narrative. Detective Barbara Atkins is an engaging protagonist, with her well-developed backstory offering readers a deeper connection to her character. Her struggles, both personal and professional, make her incredibly relatable and compelling.

Tudor does a fantastic job of building a rich world, and the exploration of prejudice within this universe gives the story an emotional weight that resonates long after the final page. I’d love to see more from this universe and more adventures with Barbara Atkins. Highly recommended for those who enjoy a blend of suspense, supernatural intrigue, and social commentary.

I enjoyed the anthologies of these Cthulhu-type creatures causing different apocalypses. Some stories were very graphic and some I wish went into more specifics. I listened to the audible version and Nicholas Selker did a great job narrating.

I enjoyed this thriller, "Who Done It?" The twist was unexpected, like in a Hitchcock movie. Every character had secrets that kept me on my feet. The narrators, Michael Crouch, Gail Shalan, and Helen Lloyd, did a fantastic job with all the characters.

This was a tragic story of two teens coming out and falling in love. I loved the premise but Noah's character kind of ruined it for me. I know he is a teenager but for a 19-year-old, I found him kind of annoying, especially towards the end, like he knew what Parker was kind of experiencing but still was too focused on himself which took me out of the story a few times. The narrator Mark Sanderlin did a fantastic job tho bringing these characters to life.

Another great story from the Pride High universe! Bell always does a fantastic job world building and creating relatable characters. Those familiar with Bell's other series (Something Like) already know how great his writing is. Also Talia Carver is a great narrator!

This book dives deep into the world of counterterrorism and surveillance, revealing the complexities behind America's war on terror. The author does an incredible job of uncovering the untold stories behind the FBI's use of informants, the pressure on Muslim communities, and the ethical questions around national security and personal freedoms.

What really struck me was how it challenged my thinking about the balance between safety and civil liberties in today's world. Highly recommend if you're into investigative journalism, true crime, or just want a deeper look into the shadowy side of the War on Terror

I can’t recommend it enough! The narrators, Mark Sanderlin and Jacob Bell, did a fantastic job of bringing the characters of Theo and Caleb to life. Their performances really enhanced the emotional depth of the story.

Theo’s character growth throughout the book is truly impressive. Watching him navigate his identity and feelings is both relatable and inspiring. The romance between Theo and Caleb is adorably cute, filled with sweet moments that made me smile. Their chemistry is palpable, and you can’t help but root for them.

I’m left eagerly anticipating the next installment! If you’re looking for a heartfelt coming-of-age story with strong character development and a delightful romance, this is the book for you.

Demonic was a really interesting book. However, I was not a fan of Corey and Quinn's characters or their decisions throughout the story. I liked it, but not my favorite.

I was excited and happy to have another Greta Helsing story, which did not disappoint. I love Shaw's Helsing universe and the supernatural creatures. I felt this was too short because I wanted to spend more time in this universe. I loved the callbacks to the last three Helsing books and only hope for more—significantly more about the vampires and their hierarchy. The new narrator, Catrin Walker-Booth, brought these characters to life. The new voice didn't affect the story.

I am a huge Jay Bell fan, and the Something Like series made me a fan of his work. I've read/listened to all the Something series books and graphic novel interpretations. I love that Kevin R. Free returned to narrate this because he is indeed the voice of the Something Like Characters. Fans of Bell will enjoy it.
This version does have a few differences from the original Something Like Summer, and I am curious how different Ben's time with Jace will be in the second book.
