Historia
The story begins in 1962. On a rocky patch of the sun-drenched Italian coastline, a young innkeeper, chest-deep in daydreams, looks out over the incandescent waters of the Ligurian Sea and spies an apparition: a tall, thin woman, a vision in white, approaching him on a boat. She is an actress, he soon learns, an American starlet, and she is dying. And the story begins again today, half a world away, when an elderly Italian man shows up on a movie studio's back lot - searching for the mysterious woman he last saw at his hotel decades earlier.

Started out great an d promising but...
Revisado: 12-18-12
The story line was very intriguing but after 3/4 of the book it was lost and never came back around. The story ended with a fizzle and no satisfaction.
The narrator was excellent, with his Italian accent for his Italian lines he sounded very sexy and with the English lines he sounded like Alec Baldwin so it was a delight on the ears.

Historia
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway - a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors.

I've given up
Revisado: 12-28-11
It's not that often I give up on a book but this one is going into that category. It's just too long and boring. I have other things to do and listen to and not spend my listening time on a book that doesn't develop into anything. The premise sounded promising but it never materialized into a story I am interested in.

Historia
In this number one New York Times best-selling novel of first love and second chances, former high school sweethearts confront the painful truths of their past to build a promising future - together. In the spring of 1984, high school students Amanda Collier and Dawson Cole fell deeply, irrevocably in love. Though they were from opposite sides of the tracks, their love for one another seemed to defy the realities of life in their small town in North Carolina. But as the summer of their senior year came to a close, unforeseen events would tear the young couple apart.

How gumbled can it get?
Revisado: 11-02-11
The story sounded good before I listened to it. The love story might have been there but no not really and the performance was dry and emotionless. It was like I was listening to several different stories that were connected by a thread and nothing was ever fully developed. Sorry but I'm not listening to any more Nicholas Sparks novels they have all been a disappointment.

I don't have this much time to devote..
Revisado: 04-11-11
...to a book I can't even understand the narrator (16 hours+). I didn't read anywhere that the story was based "across the pond." I usually listen to the sample first because I'm tired of listening to British accents on Audible books, I'll never make that mistake again!. It sounded like a great story and I was in a hurry, I needed something quick to have for a road trip, but I found myself fast-forwarding after 30 mintues. Sorry, but I tried.
I'm having a bit of bad luck, the last 3 or so books I haven't been able to finish, usually too boring. What a waste of a $15 credit times 3.

Historia
Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense pro who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, to defend clients at the bottom of the legal food chain. It's no wonder that he is despised by cops, prosecutors, and even some of his own clients. But an investigator is murdered for getting too close to the truth and Haller quickly discovers that his search for innocence has taken him face to face with a kind of evil as pure as a flame.

This is an interesting story, I never grew tired of it and my mind didn't wander. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the story changed. The narrator is excellent, all the different voices really brought the story to life.

Historia
While watching TV one day, Ruby Kincaid catches sight of her runaway daughter Violet in a commercial. Quicker than a jackrabbit, Ruby makes up her mind to head straight for Tinseltown and reclaim her wayward daughter - even if she has to lasso her. MoonPies and Movie Stars is Amy Wallen's snappy, sassy, and sensational debut novel. A hysterical romp across the Southwest, it pits a spunky Texan mom against the star-studded power of Hollywood.

Tried to finish but...
Revisado: 08-28-10
I tried to finish the book but the story moved too slow for me and it was suppose to be a fast-paced romp across the Southwest but an hour into it Ruby was still in the bowling alley. There were way too many adjectives, meaningless dialog and details that seemed to be there only to "prove" it is a true southern story (it seemed like the story was there and the editor sent the author back to make it longer by adding southern colloquialisms; therefore make for a larger book). I usually like a story that moves faster into the meat of the storyline. The sentence structure was very sophomoric. I couldn't finish the book, I found my mind wandering, maybe I'll try at another time. I loved the southern accent of the narrator but I don't think it is a natural one. I gave it 2 stars only because of the sentence structure and I couldn't bear to finish.

Ran out of steam
Revisado: 07-22-10
The story is intriguing but it seemed like the author changed in the last 1/3 of the book and the connections were too neat and tidy. The audio recording/narrator was above par.

Historia
Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

Historia
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Revisado: 04-29-10
The premise of the story sounds great but not too far into the story it is apparent that this is a waste of time. I should have took to heart the reviews I read on Amazon.com. Too bad this is my first Stephen King novel too.
