She and her coterie of devoted helpers can ransack a house for clues faster than it takes a fingerprint to set. From her time on the Atlanta police force, Callahan has excelled at mopping up messes of all kinds. But she has no idea what she's getting into when she agrees to work for infamous antiques dealer Elliot Littlefield. The first day on the job, she and her crew are on the trail of a stolen Civil War diary.

Narrator should learn correct locale pronunciations

‘Chamblee’ is ‘Shamblee’ in Atlanta parlance, and any true southerner would know how to pronounce ‘kudzu.’ Good story, but too many wrong notes in the narration.

Story
After 10 years of cleaning up the dirt on Atlanta's streets, Callahan Garrity is trading in her badge for a broom and a staff of house cleaners. But, though the uniform is a little different, Callahan soon finds herself right back in the middle of a mystery when a client's pretty, pious 19-year-old nanny is gone...along with the jewelry, silver, and a few rather sensitive real estate documents. Before she knows it, the meticulous Callahan is up to her elbows in a case involving illicit love triangles, crooked business deals, long-distance scams, and a dead body.

Get the regional stuff right!

‘Taliafero’ is pronounced ‘Toliver’ in Georgia. Somebody needs to clue narrators In to the correct regional pronunciations. The narrator’s accent was reasonably convincing, but a few words gave away the fact that she’s never been near Atlanta.

Should have had a better narrator

It’s a good story with vivid descriptions and interesting characters, but the narrator almost ruined it for me. His phrasing is strange and halting. His pronunciations of character and place names were not consistent. His Irish accent comes and goes. I love listening to audiobooks, but I wish I had read this one myself instead of hearing this narrator read it.
