Story
Wyoming game warden Joe Pickett faces two different kinds of raging beasts—one animal, one human—in this riveting new novel from #1 New York Times bestseller C. J. Box. A rogue grizzly bear has gone on a rampage—killing, among others, the potential fiancé of Joe’s daughter. At the same time, Dallas Cates, whom Joe helped lock up years ago, is released from prison with a special list tattooed on his skin. He wants revenge on the people who sent him away: the six people he blames for the deaths of his entire family and the loss of his reputation and property.

It was simply too long a wait and too short a story. I hate having to wait for what’s next.

Story
An off-duty Coast Guardsman is fishing with his family when he calls in some suspicious behavior from a nearby boat. It's a snazzy craft, slick and outfitted with extra horsepower, and is zipping along until it slows to pick up a surfaced diver...a diver who was apparently alone, without his own boat, in the middle of the ocean. None of it makes sense unless there's something hinky going on, and his hunch is proved right when all three Guardsmen who come out to investigate are shot and killed.

Honestly, the best of Sandford’s novels. I’ve read them all. Superb narration ( Ferrone) superb story line, and superb mixes of story, tech, and humor. I loved this novel.

Then a vision from the Eldunarí, unexpected visitors, and an exciting Urgal legend offer a much-needed distraction and a new perspective. This volume features three original stories set in Alagaësia, interspersed with scenes from Eragon's own unfolding adventure.

Loved hearing about and from Eragon. I know someone else didn’t care for the narrator, but I love the return to the original. I hope for longer tales of a favorite character.

I'm sorry, but I hate it when a new narrator pronounces the protagonist's name wrong. Every time I heard it, it pulled me out of the story. I hate that!

Great story overall, but I nearly stopped listening each time the narrator attempted to give inappropriate dialect to the minority characters! Simply the worst narration of my considerable audible listening career!
