Story
When Green Beret Bryan Black was killed in an ambush in Niger in 2017, his wife, Michelle, saw her worst nightmare become a reality. She was left alone with her grief and with two young sons to raise. But what followed Bryan's death was an even more difficult journey for the young widow. After receiving very few details about the attack that took her husband's life, it was up to Michelle to find answers. It became her mission to learn the truth about that day in Niger - and Sacrifice is the result of that mission.

The ultimate sacrifice
Reviewed: 07-16-22
The message that your soldier has died for his country is something most of us will never experience or undeterstand, but for the families that have been through this nightmare, it's a reality. Life as Michelle knew it changed in 2017 when she was notified her husband, SSG Black, was killed in action when ISIS attacked his convoy in Niger Africa. Michelle gives firsthand insights and describes the sacrifices made by military gold star families and her personal experience of what she and her two children went through. This book is a must read as it will open your eyes beyond the battlefield and back to the families that endure and sacrifice so much in the name of freedom.

Story
In the predawn hours of March 4, 2002, just below the 10,000-foot peak of a mountain in eastern Afghanistan, a fierce battle raged. Outnumbered by Al Qaeda fighters, Air Force Combat Controller John Chapman and a handful of SEALs struggled to take the summit in a desperate bid to find a lost teammate. Chapman, leading the charge, was gravely wounded in the initial assault. Believing he was dead, his SEAL leader ordered a retreat. Chapman regained consciousness, alone with the enemy closing in on three sides, beginning the most difficult and exceptional fight of his life.

I've served with many CCT in Afghanistan and these men are one of a kind. Professional, lethal and damn good at dropping bombs these operators save a lot of lives on the battlefield.
