Story
A sequel faithful to Jane Austen's beloved masterpiece, Pride and Prejudice. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have been married for almost a year, and their heated arguments are a thing of the past. All that passion is now directed into more satisfying pursuits. But how long can the honeymoon last? The Darcys of Pemberley is the tale of two romances: the continuation of Darcy and Elizabeth's story, and the courtship of Miss Georgiana.

Started out fine, unhinged ending
Reviewed: 11-25-24
It starts fine and goes in a reasonable direction; however, the author gets desperate near the end and just goes for the soap opera ending. As long as you know that it is a little wild at the end, you may enjoy it.

The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame...and of a struggle between good and evil that will turn church against state, and brother against brother.

A fabulous reading of a very good book

I enjoyed this performance of The Pillars of the Earth. The book is quite an odyssey, and John Lee’s narration supported the story and was enjoyable.
