The world needs more Taoism books and works from this author. I'm not sure this one is my favorite from this author. That said, the dire absence of proficient Taoist writings, especially modern interpretations, makes this an essential read for those who know The Path.

Nothing groundbreaking or particularly insightful here, to be totally honest. Great reading performance. If you've never conceived of the idea of personal growth before, I suppose this book would be helpful.

Story
In The Blank Slate, Steven Pinker, one of the world's leading experts on language and the mind, explores the idea of human nature and its moral, emotional, and political colorings. With characteristic wit, lucidity, and insight, Pinker argues that the dogma that the mind has no innate traits, denies our common humanity and our individual preferences, replaces objective analyses of social problems with feel-good slogans, and distorts our understanding of politics, violence, parenting, and the arts.
