Story
Women want to be in love, get married, and live happily ever after. Yet disrespect for men and disregard for the value, feelings, and needs of husbands has fast become the standard for male-female relations in America. Those two attitudes clash in unfortunate ways to create struggle and strife in what could be a beautiful relationship.

The opposite of how I was raised
Reviewed: 05-12-23
I really enjoyed this book. It was the opposite of how my parent’s relationship was. It ended in divorce and my father fell into addiction and despair. In our house mom=right and dad=wrong.
With my own marriage I wanted different and I am so lucky to be married to such a wonderful man and father. Fortunately I was already doing a lot of what was here and this book validated a lot of my beliefs.

Story
To master anything, one must first master themselves–one’s emotions, one’s thoughts, one’s actions. Eisenhower famously said that freedom is really the opportunity to practice self-discipline. Cicero called the virtue of temperance the polish of life. Without boundaries and restraint, we risk not only failing to meet our full potential and jeopardizing what we have achieved, but we ensure misery and shame. In a world of temptation and excess, this ancient idea is more urgent than ever.

Ryan should be more disciplined

Surprisingly political. Only focused on the people's lives, not the changes, positive or negative, in the world. I wish he had addressed more of the nuances. Ryan probably needs to do a bit more research, but his kids don't even think he's employed.

Story
The first authoritative biography of film legend Bruce Lee, who made martial arts a global phenomenon, bridged the divide between Eastern and Western cultures, and smashed long-held stereotypes of Asians and Asian Americans. Forty-five years after Bruce Lee’s sudden death at age 32, journalist and best-selling author Matthew Polly has written the definitive account of Lee’s life. It’s also one of the only accounts; incredibly, there has never been an authoritative biography of Lee.

Great storytelling, encompasses everything. An excellent tribute to a legend. As an Asian American after listening to this book I really understand how much Bruce lee has helped me thrive as an Asian in America.
