Cloe doesn't know her what her birth parents until vampires break in and kill her mother and try to kidnap her telling her that her father wants her. She is saved by vampire hunter who turn out to be her mothers family. Nearly 15 she learns she is 1/2 vampire 1/2 vampire hunter and both sides want her. This was an entertaining and suspense filled story from start to finish. The narrator did an excellent job at keeping the story moving and the characters told apart. Highly recommend this book both for reading and listening.

Story
My dreams haunt me. I feel as if I am falling into a pit of impending doom, but even that has not prepared me for the roller-coaster of emotions that flood over me when I'm near Phoenix. I have to keep my distance from her. I need to. It's the only thing I can do to keep from getting hurt again. Staying away from her proves to be a much harder task than I could have ever imagined. She's not only my assistant, but she's half my age.

It took a long time to get to the real story so I didn't really get into it. It does end in a cliff hanger so be aware if you don't like those. Also only one couple ends in a somewhat happy ending. The others are left hanging. The narrators on the other hand did a fabulous job at bringing the many characters to life. Giving each a separate identity. The narrators made listening to the story worth while.

Billy Blade is a hardworking, hard living, razor sharp musical force. Mysterious behind his dark shades, the rough around the edges Texan mesmerizes with his haunting harmonica and tantalizes with his dangerous looks and smooth country charm. His latest album is topping the charts. He's the newly crowned King of the Bacchus Krewe. He's definitely living the rock star dream. Exotic Creole beauty Thyme Bellerose couldn't be more content. She has it all.

Story
Sam is excited to spend a week at her uncle's remote lake cabin. It's a chance for her to focus on her art without distractions: no neighbors, no phone, and a small radio as her only contact with the outside world. But there's something deeply unnatural lingering in the lake. The radio's news reports talk about disappearances on a nearby hiking trail. The car won't start. And Sam starts to believe she's being stalked when she catches glimpses of a tall, strange man standing at the end of her dock.

A story of betrayal and finding oneself
Reviewed: 03-13-17
Evelyn finds her life turned upside down when she discovers her husband secret. She finds herself making decisions while learning about herself. Although I enjoyed the story it flips every chapter from the past (before) to the present (after) which at time confused me as I struggled to recall where the last chapter left off.
