Story
One night, Peter Lake - orphan, master-mechanic, and master second-story man - attempts to rob a fortress-like mansion on the Upper West Side. Though he thinks the house is empty, the daughter of the house is home. Thus begins the affair between the middle-aged Irish burglar and Beverly Penn, a young girl who is dying. Because of a love that at first he cannot fully understand, Peter, a simple and uneducated man, will be driven "to stop time and bring back the dead".

As amazing now as it was 25 years ago

Would you consider the audio edition of Winter's Tale to be better than the print version?
I always have been a fan of printed word, and would be cautious of saying audio is better. Currently however I do not have the time available to read as I would like, but my drive to and from work make audio reading a good choice, and this audiobook is pure joy
What was one of the most memorable moments of Winter's Tale?
I originally read this book 25 years ago when I was in college. The beauty of the writing grabbed me them, and has grabbed me again in the audio version. I love the section in Grand central station when Peter Lake is up among the stars in the ceiling. Also when he first encounters Beverly and can't remember her eye color. Just the little details.
What does Oliver Wyman bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
He has a very expressive voice, and very easy to listen to.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Over twenty hours, I don't think so.
Any additional comments?
Read or listen to this before the movie comes out in February.

Story
Why we think it’s a great listen: It’s easy to say that when it comes to sci-fi you either love it or you hate it. But with Ender’s Game, it seems to be you either love it or you love it.... The war with the Buggers has been raging for a hundred years, and the quest for the perfect general has been underway for almost as long. Enter Andrew "Ender" Wiggin, the result of decades of genetic experimentation.

Why did I wait so long?

What did you love best about Ender's Game?
The voices were amazing, and it was a griping Sci-Fi story.
What did you like best about this story?
The fact that the action centered around kids, and their skill at devising stratagy.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
I loved the part where Ender's sister visits him at the lake....Can't wait to see if the movie does that scene justice.
Any additional comments?
I have wanted to read this book for a long time. Then I saw previews for the movie, and had to get the audiobook before the movie comes out. Amazingly I can totally hear Harrison Ford as the Narrator reads those parts, even though it isn't Harrison Ford reading it.

Story
Steven James' Christy Award-nominated crime thriller pits FBI Special Agent Bowers against a serial killer who enjoys torturing women. After visiting the mountain vistas where the murderer posed his dead victims, Bowers receives a taunting call from the "Illusionist." Although Bowers gets close, his insidious foe continues to elude him.

Intense mystery series begins here

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I would recommend this title whole-heartedly. I have not been a huge fan of mysteries, but Steven James weaves a story like a master. I am glued to my player every moment of this story. When I have to stop listening, I can't wait to get back to it,
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
If audio-books had pages, this would be a real page turner. Never knowing exactly what twist will come next. I can't get enough Patrick Bowers. His insight into the mind of criminals is amazing.
Which character – as performed by Richard Ferrone – was your favorite?
I really like they attitude he gives to Tessa, Patrick Bowers' step-daughter. As the father of a teen-age girl, he somehow nails the inflections and attitude amazingly well.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?
Some times the game hinges on the smallest piece
Any additional comments?
The one drawback I found in this audiobook is that Richard Ferrone sounds too old for the character of Patrick Bowers as he is described in the book. This really threw me for about the first hour or two of listening...then the story just got a hold of me and I forgot the small complaint.
