Feels like a return to AUD
Reviewed: 02-08-24
The past few books while good, have not felt like adrian. His manorims, the way he writes and how he describes things felt somewhat off. I originally had thought it was the new narrator, which I had initially disliked ( no offense, but James foster will always be adrians voice to me) however, he did a fantastic job in this book. The style in which he spoke sounded more comfortable, less screw ups in terms of verbiage and, more character to adrian. Without any spoilers, this book felt like a return to form, and I absolutely love it. I can't wait to continue Adrian's story!

Story
Adrian forgave himself. The undead have been banished and he's accepted the love of friends, family, and some strangers. He's started a better life. Bastion grows day after day as pilgrims come to put down roots near the vaunted Trinity. Crops are growing, babies are being born, supplies are being salvaged, restful dreams are being had, and there's even talk that the government is surfacing to reform. All his problems should be getting better now, right? But some battles start after the last shot is fired.
