Story
Beckett Rousseau is the firstborn son of one of New Orleans’ most prominent families. He’s the quintessential golden boy—great looks, money, and a political career in his future—until his wife murders him. Or at least that’s what everyone thinks. Athena Durand is still reeling from her murder conviction, but now that it’s overturned, she’s at a loss on how to proceed with her life. As long as people still believe she’s guilty, she has no future in Louisiana and more importantly, she wants to know who killed her husband.

While Shannon Hammer is thrilled to attend the premiere of the movie based on her boyfriend Mac’s latest book, she can’t wait to trade her killer heels for work boots and start her next renovation project in Lighthouse Cove: a quaint Victorian church that has seen better days. And will see them again—as a museum—if Shannon, her talented crew, and her sister, Chloe, have anything to say about it. But on the first day of demolition, work comes to a screeching halt when they stumble on the body of a beautiful young woman in one of the chapels.

The plot and characters made the story another great listen on the series. The narrator does a good job with female voices but has some trouble with the male voices.

This is another great mystery with insight into human nature and the trials of love. Every book in the series has been a great listen, and each book has been different and yet a continuation of the central characters and a coffee shop. I hope Cleo Coyle can come up with new ideas to continue the series.

The plot and the characters kept me listening. However, the narrator makes all the female characters sound like a ditzy young person which becomes irritating. The female characters are more mature than they are portrayed by the narrator.

The end of the book looks at a relationship between two main characters; the outcome won't be revealed until the next book is written and released. I hope it is soon.

Alison is happy for her best friend, Max. Really, she is. She loves Max, and the guy Max is marrying completely adores her. Even being in the wedding wouldn't be so bad, if it'd keep her from thinking about her off-again relationship with NYPD homicide detective Bobby Crawford. However, Bobby's the best man, and that forces them into all kinds of awkward situations. Then, when Alison’s ex turns up dead, she's dragged into another murder investigation. Romance, humor, and murder are sure to mix and mingle whenever Alison and Bobby link up in Extracurricular Activities.
