Fun, but the language.
Reviewed: 06-10-19
I love Molly Harper's stories, but the pieces of Norwegian is a bit disturbing. Just because I am Norwegian myself and the words spoken by the hulder who is supposed to be the same would be far cleaner than who she is saying them. It is impressive, but still sound like a foreigner , which they are, of course.

Story
Lucy Bowman would never have guessed that her best friend, Duffy McCready (of McCready’s Bait Shop & Funeral Home) has been in love with her since they were kids. Fear of rejection and his own romantic complications prevented Duffy from confessing his true feelings in high school, so he stood by and watched her wed Wayne Garten right after high school. Wayne had always been a cheapskate, so it comes as no surprise when he suffers a fatal accident while fixing his own truck.

Good, but a bit lazy.
Reviewed: 05-21-19
I love Molly Harper's books. they always makes me happy. However, I think it is a bit lazy to use the exact same scenes from the former short-story in this one. It feels very much like she just needed it to be longer and did not bother to write a few new scenes instead. And sometimes it felt like she came a bit to close the The Cupcake club series by Donna Kauffman. But other than that it is a very fun book.

Story
Maybe it was the Shenanigans gift certificate that put her over the edge. When children's librarian and self-professed nice girl Jane Jameson is fired by her beastly boss and handed $25 in potato skins instead of a severance check, she goes on a bender that's sure to become Half Moon Hollow legend. On her way home, she's mistaken for a deer, shot, and left for dead.

a sneez
Reviewed: 01-28-19
I love the story and the performer. But the sneez in chapter 14 that has nothing to do with the story is hilarious.

Story
On behalf of queen, country...and the perfect pot of tea. When Prudence Alessandra Maccon Akeldama (Rue to her friends) is given an unexpected dirigible, she does what any sensible female would under similar circumstances - names it the Spotted Crumpet and floats to India in pursuit of the perfect cup of tea. But India has more than just tea on offer. Rue stumbles upon a plot involving local dissidents, a kidnapped brigadier's wife, and some awfully familiar Scottish werewolves.

good and different
Reviewed: 12-16-17
I really loved the book. It is entertaining and just enough like the rest of the unniverse. I think that the people who says that Rue is stupid mix stupidity and nativity. This is her first adventure after all, and she is not her mother.

Story
I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma's boy? Check, check and check. Now I can't stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It's just a harmless crush, right? It's not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It's not like I'm going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he's the doctor. Shoot. Me.

The sex is hot, but we see little of characther development from Luke and Sophie is a little too stupid at times.
